It is a wonderful site for relaxing. For convenience and for comfort. Drama Inn is clean, bright, large rooms on the river and is a different combination to beat anywhere more

I have stayed at the Drama Inn several times and enjoyed the peace and quiet and convenience of being near everything. The rooms are clean and the view of the river is wonderful. It's so nice to sit on the porch. The rocking chairs are a nice plus. It was great being able to walk across the street to the fall festival without having to look for a parking space. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The rates are fair. I recommend it over the larger chains with all of the extra extra's. I felt very comfortable and at ease. more

The rooms are so clean I left a tip for the maids. There are no bugs, rats or pests of any kind. You will have a small fridge in your room. About some people saying that this motel is out- dated, maybe so. However you must realize that that is just the norm in Cherokee, N.C. Every motel there with the exception of the ones that are part of a national chain, are "outdated." By the way, this just means that the decorating is not up to par by modern standards. I would suggest when choosing a motel in Cherokee to put your focus on things such as cleanliness, service, and extras like being by the river. If not you will waste your time because they are all so called "outdated." more

the drama inn is a wonderful place to stay, my mother-inlaw and i stayed there in 2004 and enjoyed our self so much, the people that run the drama in were wonderful people and made us feel very muched welcome that in april of 2005 easter weekend my husband and i spent 3 nights and 4 days there. our room was very clean and neat, house keeping kept us in fresh towels each day with out having to ask for them, they cleaned our room and i had left my pocket book in the room so i would not have to tug it around, i had my belongings in it including check book, extra money and my medication, nothing was disturbed, nothing missing. if i had not trusted leaving my belongings in my room i would have not left them. the ones that run the drama inn are well trusted by us and also the housekeeping. we felt as if we were at home away from home. they also invited us to the church where they go because we were going to miss our easter service at our church. i give this hotel 10 thumbs up and it is where we will stay this year 2006 and every year after that more

I was MORE THAN pleasantly surprised to see that the door of one's hotel room (if on the 2nd floor) actually opens to the BACK of the hotel, which pleasanty had a great balcony and rushing brook with a nice breeze to step out into. Neighbors had different schedules so there was plenty of time to read solo on the rocking chairs, or say hi to another resident every now and then. A few people had tubes they floated on in the river behind the hotel and there were a few fishers up to their knees in water fishing behind the hotel as well. There were only a few kids playing in the water with their families so the atmosphere was relatively quiet and pleasant and not very crowded at all. The most pleasant quality to the trip, however, was the congeniality of the hotel owner as she spent time sharing about some of the activities available in the area and how to get to the "island" or park behind the hotel which was great for running, walking, picnicking, volleyball and other relaxing activities. more

I just could not believe some of the things I read in the last review I read about this place. It had me kind of nervous at first but let me tell you...when I got there I was nothing but mezmerized. We have rooms overlooking the river which was very peaceful. We could sit there in the rocking chairs and watch the other people fish and some just play in the water and having a good time. The surrounding of nature was just so beautiful. The staff was so nice and the rooms were so clean and if we asked for anything we got it right away. The service was just great. Everything was either in walking distance or either just a short drive away. It was so great. There was so much to do. I saw so much and did so many things til I was exhausted each evening and all I wanted to do was sit in those chairs and just watch the river flow and others have fun. I know I about drove the german lady in the office crazy because I kept going in there asking so many questions but she always greeted me with a smile and was always eagerly ready to help me with anything I or any of the ones with me needed. I wish I could say the same about all motels. People just are not that friendly anymore. This is a place I will definitely be going back to again and I hope the same people are still there when I do go again. They made my trip so pleasurable. All it takes is one bad apple to spoil a good thing for the whole bunch but I must say...please try this place before you judge it one harsh review. I know I am so glad I did because I would have hated to know I would have missed out on all of the pleasures that I enjoyed during my stay there. Thank you so much to the staff and management at the Drama Inn for making us feel so at home. We will be coming to see you again for sure. more

We really appreciate the extra time in pool and for Wyndeth play in the pool with out son in helping him swim. This is great and when we come back we will be here for our room. Thanks again! more

We stayed at the Drama Inn for the Festival of Native Peoples in July . It is an older hotel, located right along the main drag of Cherokee. We were very pleased to be staying across the street from the festival grounds and the Cherokee Museum. There is a wonderful coffee shop across the parking lot. Our room was simple and clean. There is a rustic porch with rocking chairs that faces the Oconoluftee River.....really relaxing. The owners were very nice. It ain't fancy.....but it's fine. I would definitely stay there again. more

If you stay here, you are in a very convenient location. Cherokee is very small & most activities that you want to do or see are going to be located on this main strip where the Drama Inn is located. The exception would be if you are there for the casino. Then you would probably want to stay on the other side of town near it. However, if you did stay at The Drama Inn while visiting for mainly the casino, you are still located a short distance down the road from it so; no big deal. more

I have stayed at Drama Inn over 6 times in the past few years. I am happy to see the new managers have returned the Inn to the wonderful Inn I have learned to love. The location is perfect when attending events at the fairgrounds. But what I enjoy the most is rocking on the back deck over looking that beautiful river and watching the ducks, geese and beaver, I recommend this lovely motel to anyone visiting Cherokee. more
