I traveled to Sugarland for some shopping and needed some wellness products and walked into Dr. Shel Medical & Wellness Spa. I was totally amazed at the warm welcome and the help from her friendly staff. I highly recommend the retail part of her business and look forward to exploring other areas of the business (i.e. wellness, aesthetics) more

They honestly don't even deserve one star.\r \r The staff is incredibly snobby. I set up an appointment to have a consultation and laser hair removal on the same day. Apparently this is not a normal practice, so right off the bat, I was told that I was given a special privilege, so I guess I should have felt lucky. I was then made to sit through a "consultation" (which is really a ploy to pressure you to purchase more services). During this time I also revealed that I would be using a Groupon for my services. After telling the consultant what areas I would like treated, I was told that I would have to pay an additional $150 for two treatments that were INCLUDED in the Groupon. What?! I was told that I should have read the fine print. Yes, I did that, and I called to confirm before my appointment! If you're not going to honor the Groupons that people purchased, why the heck would you sign your business up for this?! I'm pretty sure that's going to lead to a lot of pissed of custome more

I have been looking for a caring, honest physician who gives their patients time, knowledge and well- educated opinions. Dr. Shel has given me my life back. SHe has balanced my homones, nutrients, eliminated my food and environmental allergies. SHe has only recommended the vitamins that i am deficient in by doing a specific test ... other doctors give you all kinds of supplements to make money. But Dr. Shel has been very specific in her treatments and has customized her approach to help me. She is truly the best doctor I have ever met. more

Almost 5 months ago I found Dr. Shel's office through a highly reputable website. I was eager to get in with her and let her assess my condition and concerns. I was greeted by and excellent staff and treated with great respect. I felt as if every one of my concerns was recognized and brought to the attention of the staff. When I met Dr. Shel for the first time she was very complete in her assessment and explained multiple treatment options available. When I was finished with my consultation I was escorted to a quaint room where I met with the treatment advisors who discussed in detail the expectations as well as cost for each treatment method. I should mention that I was expecting concierge service and had budgeted for the expected cost of therapy. I did find that the services as a whole were very comparable to other locations I had looked. I had done my research on Dr. Shel's philosophy and scope of practice prior to my appointment, thus I was ready to discuss the multiple options that she may present for my concerns. After a brief meeting with the advisor I did decide to go forward with the complete program to assess all of the concerns and provide a very detailed analysis of my health. In my defense I will only turn 55 once and I really want to be the best I can be for my grandkids. I am writing this review because as of today I have been 4 months free of my previous symptoms and notice with each week that passes I am feeling more like myself. I do highly recommend the B12 injections that Dr. Shel provides. In the beginning I started off taking these injections once a week. I noticed that I had much better mental clarity and began to regain my physical energy within a few weeks. My next meeting will be with Dr. Shel right after the first of the year, I am looking forward to possibly addressing some concerns with my skin as well as possible weight loss. I know she also has a weight loss program where I good friend has lost over 40 pounds in the last 2 months! I can't wait for next year! more

I first went to Dr Shel feeling exhausted, I was loosing muscle tone and gaining weight rapidly, after a few tests she prescribed some hormones and supplements and within a couple weeks I was feeling better have continued to progress after 1 1/2 years of working together with her. At 50, I am more fit and feeling better than ever. Pros: Professional and expert Cons: Can't think of even one. more

I always enjoy my visits to Dr Shel's office. Her staff is friendly, professional and responsive. When I have a complaint they respond quickly and always make the effort to stay on schedule and respect my time. Trust is tough to earn from me and Dr Shel and her staff have worked hard and deserve the trust they have earned. There maybe less expensive options, but the level of professionalism, personal attention and Dr. Shel's level of expertise is a very good value and I am always glad to recommend her with confidence. This is my first time to write a post about my experience with a doctor. With 4 kids, I'm extremely busy and don't usually make time to do something like this; however, I want other women to hear how very impressed I was with Dr. Shelena Lalji of Dr. Shel's Wellness and Medical Spa. Never has a physician spent so much time with me at an initial appointment and shown so much interest in my overall health and lifestyle. My husband and I moved to Sugar Land not long ago. I hadn't seen a doctor since the birth of my last baby 2 years ago. A friend of mine who had been an OB/Gyn patient of hers back when Dr. Shel was still delivering babies at Kelsey Seibold highly recommended Dr. Shel, so I scheduled a "Well Woman" exam - basic health, pap smear, etc. (Of course, I now know that gynecology is actually a very small part of her current practice. A much larger part is devoted to bioidentical hormore therapy. Since becoming one of her patients, I am now on BHRT for slightly low progesterone, and I feel fabulous!) There were many times during my first appointment that I was "blown away." To begin with, the facility is absolutely beautiful. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a very nice lady who made me feel like a guest in her home, instead of a doctor's office. (She even served me chilled, mint tea in a crystal stemware!) My wait was very short, maybe 5-10 minutes. Next, a very kind nurse escorted me to an exam room which was just as relaxing and well decorated. I hadn't been there long enough to even take off my shoes when Dr. Shel stuck her head in and said, "I'd really like to spend some time getting to know you. Let's just go into my office so you'll be a lot more comfortable." I couldn't believe it...No awkward, incredibly long, nerve-racking wait wearing only a paper napkin. This was definitely new... Once in her private office, Dr. Shel asked me about, not only my pregnancies, cycles, etc, but also about any current stressors in my life, my sleep patterns, nutrition and exercise habits, changes in my skin, and subsequent anti-aging issues. This 25-30 minute conversation focused 100% on my health and wellness. When it was time for the actual exam, she performed the quickest, least uncomfortable exam/pap I've ever had. During the check-up, she seemed truly interested in even my slightest concerns, so I took a chance on asking her if she knew anything that could be done for a few small, discolored areas that had popped up on my face during my last pregnancy. (They were really only noticeable to me, but still...who wants a facial flaw?) I was pleasantly surprised to hear that, not only could she could prescribe a very effective product to correct the discoloration, she even stocked it! No trip to the pharmacy. I loved the fact that she knew how to fix the problem, had the specific product in-house, and never pressured me into buying anything... It was my decision to make. All-in-all, I was treated with the utmost respect, and her staff genuinely seemed pleased to have me there. One thing you should know is that Dr. Shel is fee-for-service. This was explained to me when I scheduled, so I knew I'd be responsible for paying my bill in its entirety when I checked out. If forking out more than your "usual co-pay" isn't something you can do right now, I strongly suggest you a) set aside some money for a while just to be able to experience this kind of attention and care from a physician and b) remember the old addage, "You get what you pay for." After years of going to "doctor mills" where I was one of too many, I can honestly say that I don't mind paying more upfront if it allows Dr. Shel the ability to take such fine care of me and my overall health. (BTW, in case you're wondering, I did file a claim with my insurance company using a document Dr. Shel's staff printed out for me. I simply had to mail it in and wait on reimbursement.) I went to this establishment to find out more about a certain laser procedure and how much it would cost, since prices were not listed online or otherwise told up front. During the consult with "Dr. Shel" I felt I was being pressured into undergoing the procedure when I'd barely had enough time to process the information given to me in a few short minutes. I said I needed to think about it first, because the procedure was quite expensive. As I was leaving, the front desk wanted me to pay for this procedure upfront without having even scheduled it yet. When I again said I needed to think about this decision before scheduling, let alone paying for it, they acted like this was unheard of. I finally got out of there, but not without having to pay a $75 "consult fee", also never mentioned to me before coming in. more
