Editorial review from Citysearch 9/3/2012

A friend highly recommended Dr. Quagliata to me and I had a fantastic experience with her. She was exceptional on so many levels so I had to spread the word. When I first met her and her assistant, I was so impressed by her professionalism. She is very confident and for good reason. I had a lot of questions about my dog and she was so knowledgable and was willing to take the time and explain everything to me in laymens terms. My dog had been drinking too much water for a while and Dr. Q knew exactly what was wrong based on some other issues my dog had been having. Bloodwork confirmed that Dr. Q was correct and now that he is on the right medicine all of his skin problems and infections completely resolved! Dr. Q was also very gentle and sweet with my older cat! Usually my cat freaks out with strangers but she was fine with Dr. Q and her assistant. My cat has very bad dental disease and Dr. Q recommended that I take her to have a dental with the only board certified veterinary dentist in NYC, Dr. Riback, at the AMC. Ever since my cat had a couple of teeth pulled she is feeling so much better and has much more energy. Every interaction I have had with Dr. Q makes me confident that she knows what is best for my pets and really cares. more

Experienced and reliable! Since we 6/8/2012

Experienced and reliable! Since we moved to the city several years ago, we have had multiple pets under the care of Dr. Q. We have been extremely impressed with her compassion and her novel approach to our pets' well-being. Our dog Mckenna has been suffering from debilitating arthritis and allergies for years. Dr. Q took a hands-on personal approach and found that McKennas issues were a direct result of suboptimal nutrition. She took the time to educate us on how to improve McKenna's diet and exercise regimen. Overall, what sets Dr. Q apart from other providers is her reliability, trustworthiness and most-importantly individualized approach to animal care. Thanks Dr. Q!!! more

Nice but..... 3/14/2012

Dr. Quagliata was very nice so I hate to write this review but I do not want someone to have the same terrible experience I had. It was very convenient to use Dr Quagliata to give our pets shots at home and we enjoyed using her for this. But if your dog has a real issue I would highly recommend taking your pet to a more experienced vet. My dog had a hole leaking puss on his face which 20 mins of internet research ultimately revealed was an abscesed 4th premolar. Dr. Quagliata originally mistook the hole for a blemish and after it didn't go away she sent me to the AMC to have my dogs teeth cleaned and have X-rays done to determine the problem. She highly recommended Dr. Riback - Dr. Riback at the AMC charged me $1400 to clean my dogs teeth and remove 6 teeth - but they did not remove the tooth that was causing the problem! I think Dr. Quagliata should not have sent me to the most expensive place in the whole city to get this done and she should have made sure they pulled out the right tooth. Also, after reading the reviews, I found out the AMC is notorious for ""ripping people off"" After the hole did not heal, Dr. Quagliata and the AMC insisted it was highly unlikely the 4th premolar was the problem. I spoke to 3 other experienced vets who said the opposite - it was likely the 4th premolar. I had the 4th premolar removed and the problem went away immediately. One of the vets I consulted with after parting ways with Dr. Quagliata and the AMC said this in an email that I think sums the situation up nicely - ""Care of an abscessed tooth is not rocket science and it doesn't generally require a specialist unless something is very amiss. A veterinarian should not mistake a tooth root abscess for a ""blemish"" if they have been in practice a number of years."" Unfortunately, Dr. Quagliata was too inexperienced to help me in this situation and my dog had to suffer. It also cost me a lot of money $2500 for something that should have cost about $800. more

Fantastic Doggy Bed-Side Manner 6/28/2011

Dr. Quagliata and her assistant came to see my 12 year-old chihuahua mix last night for the first time. She was instantly at ease and took to them both within minutes. Carolyn did a tremendous job of handling ""P"" during her examination and blood draw. I was especially impressed when Dr. Quagliata called in my dog's prescription on the spot and her assistant went to pick it up for me before the drug store closed. A tremendous service! more

Compassionate and caring 3/21/2011

Dr. Quagliata cared for my 20 year old Persian during the last few months of her life. She provided extraordinary care. She responded quickly and compassionately to my concerns and helped guide me my cat's end of life. This was a highly emotional time for me as I had my cat since she was 8 weeks old. Dr. Quagliata's house call services enabled my cat to pass in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by those who loved her the most. She and her assistant were truly amazing, providing comforting words and thoughts as we said good-bye to a cherished family member. I highly recommend Dr. Quagliata. more

Kind and patient vet 8/16/2010

I have a four year old puggle who panics every time we visit our local vet. She often has to be restrained for simple procedures like vaccinations. This year, I tried Dr. Quagliata. She was kind, patient, and gentle with my dog. She was able to give her annual health exam and several vaccinations (DHLP, Rabies, and Bordetella) without any trouble. Our experience was much calmer and easier than visiting our regular veterinarian's office. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Quagliata and will definitely use her services in the future. more

Incredible Service 7/6/2010

I have a rottweiler and he's a big and heavy dog! He was really sick last week and I couldn't even get him to move to go to the vet. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Quagliata and told me that she comes to your home. I didn't even know a service like this existed in NYC! It was so convenient, and she was a life saver. She came right over and treated my dog. She was very patient and attentive to details. I was very impressed with her service that I am just going to keep her as my dog's primary vet. I recommend her to anyone who has a pet, she is phenomenal! Pros: Convenience, Quality Care Cons: None! She was exceptional more

Thank you Dr.Q Pros: kind and friendly more

Dog (and Owner's) Best Friend 6/21/2010

Dr. Quagliata was referred to me by both a neighbor and a vet working in the clinic I used near my apartment. These are two major pluses when a vet recommends another and two separate people refer someone. She did not disappoint. Carolyn came to my house several times, which made my dog MUCH more comfortable than visiting a vet office. She was both professional and caring. My dog is 14 years old and obviously in need of some special care and attention, which is exactly what Dr. Quagliata provided. We started with acupuncture sessions and I quickly realized she should care for all of my pet's needs. She has taken the time to answer my calls whenever I am concerned and encourages me to continue do so. Truth is, she has been a godsend! I know my dog is in great hands which is more than I could ask for. Anybody that is considering Dr. Quagliata should not hesitate to call her. You will quickly feel the same way I do. Pros: Too Many To List more

Great Vet 6/1/2010

Oh the relief of not having to drag the cat to the vet's office anymore -- the anxiety of it all. Gone now that Dr. Q comes by. The convenience after years of stuffing our unhappy, uncooperative cat in her carrier can't be overstated, but what's even more exciting is Dr. Q herself. She is the consummate vet, gentle, professional, knowledgeable but with such a comfortable way about her, it's as if an old friend showed up in scrubs to give our cat a quick exam and a rabies shot. Turns out our cat does need medication. The matter was resolved in a few days -- a few e-mails, a single phone call and the meds arrived. Dr. Q is as conscientious as she is likeable. She's been by twice and her choice of assistants proves she's wise as well. Dr. Q was recommended by our vet's office and we're feeling very lucky they did. Pros: Skilled, personal care and convenience Cons: None! more

My favorite new Vet! 4/12/2010

Having recently moved to NYC I had no idea where to take my dog when she got a UTI my first week living in the city!! I actually found Dr. Q on Citysearch! After reading the great reviews I took a chance. I'm soooo happy i did!! First of all, how convenient to have her come to my apt??!?! My dog typically panics when going to the vet so this made my life MUCH EASIER!!! When Dr. Q arrived she was very sweet. Treated my dog as if she knew her for years. UTI gone in 2 days :) I will definitely use her again. Honestly.. I feel so lucky that I found her! Pros: Conveniencee!!! Cons: none! more

The only vet I will trust for my dog (and myself) 4/1/2010

When I got my first dog and had many many problems with him, I was stuck making a very difficult decision. Dr. Quagliata helped me through that process and ultimately supported me in what I thought was best. She was gentle and understanding with me! As I can see now with my current dog, she treats her canine patients with the same care. Pros: professional, prompt, caring, honest more

Best Vet in NY 3/30/2010

What can you say about a veterinarian who not only visits you in your home, but is a fabulous doctor. Carolyn came into our home and all three of my dogs took to her immediately. They just knew she was an animal person. Having three dogs, it is not easy to take them out on a trip to the vet. I often have to bring them in one at a time. Having Carolyn come to the house was a godsend. Not having my little Willie wimper as we approached the vet's office was worth a million dollars to me. But it was not just the convienence of having her come to the house. It was the care she gave the dogs. She treated them like they were my children, which they are. I will be a Dr. Carolyn fan forever, as will my children koko, Suzi ad Willie Pros: Calm, strong, caring, loving more

Top Notch Vet! 3/28/2010

I cannot say enough about Dr. Quagliata and the quality care she has given to my pets. On a professional level, she is always prompt, clear, and a true expert in her field. On a personal level, she is very personable and compassionate - when my animals are sick, it's can be very upsetting and I always feel a million times better after simply talking with Dr. Quagliata. And when she comes to treat the animals, I know they are receiving the best care possible. Her genuine compassion and love of animals is at the core of her work and makes a world of difference in receiving high quality care. Her house call service has been a life-saver for my cat, who is traumatized by being put in a carrier to go to the vet. It used to take him days to get back to being himself after a trip to the vet's office. Now he gets amazing care in the comfort of our home, which is exponentially easier on him and me. I felt like it was a true gift to find this doctor - you will too! Pros: Professional, compassionate, expert, house calls more

Dog's Best Friend 3/27/2010

We have a 5 year old back labrador who is a part of our family and means everything to us. She has been lethargic with back pain for the better part of a year. Beckett has been to 3 different local vets who ran thousand of dollars of tests and only offered heavy pain meds which made him more drowsy and incontinent to the point that it was suggested we treat him for depression. We were referred to Dr. Q who has been a blessing. After several treatments with accupuncture, Beckett is feisty, active and playful. We feel like we have a puppy all over again and would recommend Dr Q to anyone looking for a Great vet who can come to your home!! Pros: Friendly, Smart, Accomodating more

Best Pet Acupuncturist 3/27/2010

Dr. Quagliata has always been caring and compassionate to me and my little guys and their care and well being was always a top priority. I was especially happy with her acupuncture treatments as I had been to other pet acupuncturists before but none had the professionalism, knowledge or passion that Dr. Quagliata has. I highly recommend this Vet. Pros: Knowledgeable, Compassionate more

Dr. Quagliata House Call Vet saved my Mookie's life. 3/27/2010

Going back to the fall of 2008, the foundation of my family had been experiencing severe pain & was simply not in high spirits?.. ?Mookie? my 10 year old Golden Retriever had started to break down and I was an emotional wreck. Mookie had issues climbing stairs and was not comfortable in one spot, all due to extreme arthritis in his back legs. Pros: Great Doctor, House Calls, Acupuncture for Animals Cons: NONE more

vet who makes house calls 3/26/2010

I have a 6 year old labrador retriever. I have been fortunate enough to have Dr. Quagliata as my veterinarian since my lab has been a puppy. As many people could imagine, labradors are known for being active dogs whose curiosity can at times get them into trouble. No matter what the situation or what symptoms I shared with Dr. Quagliata, she accurately diagnosed the problem and immediately came up with a solution. She treats my dog as if its her own and responds to any and all questions that I have asked with patience and genuine sincerity. I trust Dr. Quagliata without hesitation as I know her heart is truly connected to every single one of her patients. Pros: knowledge, passion, more
