Rented a house through Douglas and have nothing but problems when dealing with him. Should have been a red flag when he took a call during lease signing from a friend and was talking about how he 'over-extended' himself and needed to close something so he could pay his bills that week. The owners requested a background and financial check which he did not do. He told us we could move in a few days early, which we found out was not ok with the owners when one of their family members stopped by the day we were moving in to check out the house.\r

Usually takes Doug ~1 month to return phone calls. He called and said someone would come to the house in the next 3 days to clean furnace at owners request, left him several messages over the next two weeks when no one showed up and the calls were not returned. I contacted the owners of the house directly and one week later Doug called me back saying he needed to resolve things right away and would schedule the furnace cleaning. Still no response from him after he said he would schedule the cleaning.\r

Instead of resolving issues with a phone call, will schedule an appointment and then either show up 20 minutes late or call and say he can't do anything and cancel the appointment. He has done this repeatedly and takes 1-2 weeks each time.\r

I have contacted the owners directly several times and Doug lies to them about having work done on the house and contacting me. I have found out ~6 months into the lease that the owners had special conditions for renters that Doug did not share when we signed the lease. The owners have to pay a fee for Doug handling the rental so they are trying to him to do the job they paid him to do, but when my lease is up I will be moving unless they switch to another agent.
