This is definitely one of the worst bars I've been to in San Francisco. The place is small, playing terrible music and a very creepy crowd....

Thuggin' it 90s style 6/5/2010

Went here with my roommates on a Saturday night. Now I am a 24-year-old white boy living in SF, but damn did I feel like I was straight up thuggin' it California-Love-music-video style! You can tell when you're there you're at a place where the DJs actually have talent. No cheesy Lil' Jon remixes where it fades to played-out Journey songs here... Clever and head-bangin' mixes left me on all corners of the dance floor with my double vodka in hand. The atmosphere was also awesome. Old school 90s boom boxes cover a part of the wall where the DJ spins and silky smooth graffiti is by the lounge section of the bar. Overall, damn good time and I'm comin back. I will be back again. Pros: Awesome vibe, cool 90s rap era atmosphere more

come to double dutch with all of your partying needs. not only is the staff smokin' as heck but the the juices are fresh and flowin'. yeah, whats up. there are girls there and they like to get down and boogie. the bartender/owner is so bald and delicious he gives me a wet spot on the barstool. towel please! or perhaps an extra cocktail napkin? they always have neat-o djs. mondays are the best in town. cheap booze and free hj's. if you stay late enough, you just might get a taco! this place makes me feel special down there. Pros: fresh juices Cons: bartenders wear clothes more

Went there the 3rd week it was open & had a great time! Full of the usual element inhabiting SF these days: trendy hipsters, newbies & people trying to front like they OWN that lil piece of bar! Get your drink & be off lil ones! Besides the rude lookey-loo amatuers & poorly planned bathroom locations (on the back of dancefloor) - this place has the backing & cred to be a mainstay. The godawful 80's clothing was very entertaining, as well as the fact that each person looked @ themselves as they passed the huge mirror on the wall near the entrance was too funny! The shadow box pictures are of 2 girls doing - what else? double dutch jumprope!!! And the Lite-Brite spelling out the club name - way cool! Pros: Good music, good drinks & nice staff (owner/security) Cons: A woman has to literally elbow her way into a tiny bar spot 4 a drink- Chivalry is DEAD!!! more

Double Dutch is the new hot spot on 16th St. in the Mission, it's true. However, be prepared to deal with the Bridge and Tunnel crowds topped off with the major dose from the Marina if you're passing through on the weekends. The weekdays offer a better representation of the bar's true nature. The walls display really cool, oldschool lightbox photos of kids in the hood. The overall decor is very tastefully done, almost too nice for the neighborhood. A welcome change from the previous bar at this location. Oh yeah, bring lots of money... the drinks aren't cheap! Pros: Ambience, cool ownership Cons: Expensive drinks, Marina idiots more
