I only go to this place for sushi. The food is amazing, the service is great, the food is presented in such a good way. Large and extensive menu with tons of special rolls. I have been going here for years and like I said this is the only sushi place I will eat at. If you are in Norfolk and want great sushi, do yourself a favor and stop by. Great location on the corner downtown! Good sushi and very reasonable prices. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls are delicious. I usually stop here once a week after working out at The Gym Downtown....service is always fast and friendly. Pay no attention to natalieg78, her service may have been bad, but i can assure you that her case is quite rare. I've worked across the street from DOMO for the past 3 years and I've tried at least 20-25 sushi places in the surrounding 100 miles... DOMO in Norfolk and VOLCANO in Virginia Beach are atop my favorites list. I eat @ DOMO at least twice a week and I can vouch for their amazing food, quality presentation, superb chefs and friendly service. Their twist on the traditional Spicy Tuna Roll is unique and delicious, I'd recommend ordering that to anyone who is a first time sushi eater or a long time sushi lover. Go grab some sushi @ DOMO then go see a show @ Virginia Stage Company! Best bet for taking someone on a date. I went there for lunch today with my husband. I'd like to comment on the food, but after waiting 40 minutes, I still didn't have any! Customers that came in after us were almost done eating by the time we left. No salads, nothing. We had no special orders/instructs, but still no food. The server kept saying ""almost ready"". When I went to pay for the drinks and they offered to wrap it up when it was done. No Thanks! more

We've eaten sushi all over and thus we consider ourselves good judges of sushi: this place rates right up there. We started with gyoza soup, which we hadn't seen before. It was hot and flavorful, and the gyoza (japanese dumplings for those who don't know) was really nice. We followed that with kani su, vinegar dressed crabstick and avacado cucumber wraps, roll style (look for it under the salad/appetizer section of the menu). Delicious! We ordered two rolls--volcano and new york, both of which were served quickly and were quite good. We concluded that the specialty of the house were the rolls, not only for the wide selection but for the quality and flavor. We had a few pieces of sushi which were very delicious too. I'm rather fussy about my sushi, both the quality of the fish and the service, and I'm accustomed to the restaurant quality of large cities like Chicago and New York. This place was just outstanding in every regard. The appetizers were savory and crisp, the fish was very fresh, and the special maki were superb: worth every nickel. And on top of all this, the service was the most attentive I can remember at any restaurant in recent memory. We were passing through Norfolk for a special trip, and although we didn't mention this to the staff, they treated us as though we were the only people in the place. And the price was very reasonable for the quantity and quality of our meal. I wish I could come back to this place every week. more
