\r My age 11 months dog used to love going there. However two weeks ago I picked him up and brought up the fact that I hardly saw him on the cam and that when getting him home he's not tired unlike the past. At that time I was told "" Ohhh I've been meaning to tell you........"" I'm then told that he's very energetic, whines when placed in his cage, is uncooperative, and doesn't take commands. I'm shocked, not because of the report but because it only came up after my questioning and after bringing him in at least once a week and for over night boarding for the last 6 months. The next week I drop him off and that afternoon receive a phone call asking me to come pick him up and that he won't be able to return again until maybe after he's had some more training as again he was placed in a crate for time out, given a ball which he destroyed and again I'm told he's too energetic, whines when placed in a cage for time out, and hasn't learned to leave the other dogs alone who doesn't wish to play at the time. I responded that I thought it was up to the other dog to indicate to my dog to leave them alone yet I'm told they don't do that there because of safety. So I believe this is a great facility for small dogs and older large dogs, however if your dog is an energetic breed or a very hyper playful puppy they will tolerate them only for a while. As an after thought I noticed that the turnover rate for the employees was through the roof. It's evident as they hang pictures of the current employees inside the facility, also when I used to check the cam it was rarely the same attendant watching the dogs. So maybe my dog sensed this. Again, the owners are nice yet should inform owners up front and immediately if there are problems, not as an afterthought or only when an owner asks.\r more

Not impressed!!! I boarded my two dogs at Dogtopia over the weekend. They both came home smelling strongly of urine. I understand this is an indoor facility, but I was told my dog was given a bath only a few hours before I picked her up. The owner said she had to have a bath because she urinated in her cage (mind you I thought they were in kennels, not cages). My dogs are trained VERY well not to use the bathroom in the house. I can leave them at home for during my workday without having to worry that they will mess in the house. This leads me to believe that she was probably not given the opportunity to use the restroom elsewhere and their idea of a bath was the water hose. \r \r Also, their Sunday hours are some what questionable, 11am-2pm? The reason I was boarding my dogs is so I could go visit my family over the weekend. I was told by the manager that I could drop them off anytime after 8am and pick them up anytime before 7pm. She failed to mention the weekend hours are different even though she had just scheduled them for a weekend boarding. Needless to say, I was surprised and disappointed when I dropped them off Saturday morning to find that I would have to pick them up before 2pm the next day. What is the point of boarding them over the weekend if they can only stay for a half day (although I was charged for a full day) on Sunday?? Not to mention that I was 7 minutes late and received a $10 dollar late fee. Honestly I would so much care about the late fee if I wasn't already paying $150 dollars for them to stay from Saturday morning to Sunday at 2:07pm. \r \r I read all of the other Dogtopia reviews before I took them there and expected at lot more for the money. However it seems to me that money is the priority here, not the dogs happiness and well being. I will not be returning. more

My pup loves Dogtopia 1/18/2011

The owners and staff are so considerate and truly enjoy working with dogs! I do not like leaving my puppy alone for an extended period of time and am know when I leave my pup here (at Dogtopia) he enjoys himself and is not alone. I highly recommend Dogtopia to any dog owner (I even went to the North Raleigh Location and adored it too). The only negative is that the staff doesn't take the dogs out to go potty-though it is to be expected. Though my pup thankfully doesn't changes his habits due to this fact-I could see it could be an issue for owners going through the housebreaking process. more

Exceptional! 11/1/2010

We tried at least 4 other dog daycare and boarding facilities in the Triangle area that claim to offer the same services as Dogtopia Cary. I can honestly say that they can't even compare to the top quality, professional service that we receive at Dogtopia Cary. The owners/managers and staff genuinely love working with and being with dogs. Unlike other facilities where your dog is just a number, they make sure that they get to know your dog, their habits, personalities, behaviors, likes, and dislikes. Sometimes my dog loves to play and other times he just wants to chill, and the staff are sensitive and sharp enough to understand my dog's needs. My dog LOVES going there, and I feel very comfortable leaving him at Dogtopia just for a day or whenever I need to travel for extended periods of time. The cleanliness of the facility is superb! The things that I bring for my dog for boarding stay clean. It's also a one-stop shop if my dog needs a bath, a hair or nail trim, or just some gourmet treats!! Another great perk about this place is that they have staff on site until late hours into the evening so that I know my dog is safe and well care for. I can't say enough great things about this place. I am not a new dog owner and I know what's good and what's bad about a dog care facility. This is definitely a place to bring your dog if you want high quality, professional, and responsible care for your dog. We consider Dogtopia Cary an extension of our family -- we just wish we had met them a lot earlier! more

Great Place! 8/30/2010

To give Dogtopia one star based on the fact it is indoors is a bit short sighted. more

so glad we were introduced to Dogtopia! 7/8/2010

My husband and I just got a Golden Retriever puppy and we have had him for 2 months now. I was very skeptical about taking him and leaving him with anyone that wasn't me; especially because he is only 4 months old. My sister suggested that we give Dogtopia a try; she lives only a few blocks away and her dog has gone there for years. The first day we took him, I stayed in the area all day (I know sounds crazy but he is like my first child.) Pros: fun staff, welcoming, clean, great hours of operation Cons: Why would we go if there were any? more

Like a 2nd Family 7/8/2010

My dog and I love this place. Clearly CaryGirl has not spent any time here or she would know that the dogs don't regress in their potty training! It hurts me to even see someone advising others not to visit Dogtopia. Pros: Loving Staff, fun, climate controlled, contests, cameras Cons: not a thing! more

The Best 4/29/2010

We LOVE Dogtopia of Cary. The staff are fantastic. My dog Morrissey gets very excited when we pull up outside and it has done wonders for his behavior. He gets to let off steam during the day and we get a tired happy little dog at the end of the day. Their customer service is fantastic, they value their customers and have nice promotions. Morrissey has done overnight stays there too. I have to say the first time I was worried as previously he boarded with his vet and was a sorry state when we picked him up, this time though he was happy and his usual self plus I got to check up on him on webcam. He gets baths and nail trims there too, he always smells so good, I recommend the oatmeal shampoo. Morrissey is a small boy, he's only 10 pounds and he plays in the small room, they evaluate each dog to see where they are suited and Moz knows how to hang!? He goes twice a week and has been going since Sept 2009. Pros: Great staff, clean, dogs love it Cons: none. more
