Doggy Day Care By Shady Pines

I live in Savannah and had pets my whole life. I have been going to Shady Pines for about three years and I have never had a problem and if I did Mr. Nelson would have made it better. The staff at Shady Pines are the nices people with dogs I have seen. There kennels are clean and large, doggie daycare is very nice. But I use there pet grooming the most. Mr. Nelson is the groomer and he is very good. I recommend Shady Pines to everybody, DON'T take my advise and go meet the staff and Mr. Nelson at Shady Pines and make up your own mind. Please do not put your dog through this! Do NOT use this place. My dog was not let out of the cage or able to urinate or poop for almost 24 hours. This staff even ADMITTED that my dog was overlooked because he was placed in a cage in an area that the staff rarely goes into. This admission came only after I confronted this staff because as soon as I picked up my dog, my dog got out of the door and urinated for almost 15 seconds pooped a great deal. The staff also ADMITTED that they do not have a checklist or any way of determining whether or not dogs have been let out. I am flaming mad that my dog was NEGLECTED and ABUSED. I can't imagine after 20 years of this place being in business, just how many dogs have had to hold it for so long and go through this. From this point on, I cannot leave the room or vehicle without my dog whimpering hysterically. Before this TRAUMATIC event, my dog was very well mannered and had no problem with me leaving him alone. I left my two inside/outside dogs at Shady Pines for a week while on vacation. They were completely filthy when I picked them up, and the personnel at Shady Pines had not given my dog any of the medicine that is supposed to be administered once a day. If you're used to professionalism, they do not comply to those standards. They will not notify you when your pet is complete, although they will ask you for your number (but they wont use it). They may keep your pet overnight, and since they did not call you, they will leave without notifying you of a thing, and then charge you boarding. And don't think of calling the day you drop your pet off, they will not answer the phone. But they seem to return messages the next day to notify you that they will be closed and your pet wont be available for pickup until the next day (mon), even though they will be there all day today (sun). Does that make any sense? Bring correct change also, they don't seem to have change on site. I will never use them again, nor will I suggest anyone to use their services either.
