Dog Groomers Of New Jersey

My wife and I have taken our teacup Yorkie to Dog Groomer's of NJ for the two years we have lived in Bayonne.  They always gave her a decent cut and assumed she enjoyed her time there. We took her there for the last time about a week ago.  When I went to pick her up, she still had about fifteen minutes until she was done.  I went outside to park properly and returned to the store front and waited downstairs in the waiting area.  I guess they did not realize I had returned and I got the opportunity to listen to how they really speak and act towards the animals they are grooming and caring for.  Every time a dog would bark or yelp, profanities of the worst sort were yelled at them.  I heard one girl working there proclaim that she hated dogs.  Not a good place for you to work then, huh?  I then heard what sounded like someone swatting a dog with a light object.  I was appalled and heard a girl say, "don't worry, it is a paper towel roll, it won't hurt them!".  I immediately made my way up to the grooming area so they were aware that I was there.  The profanities and 'whacking' immediately stopped.  I stayed in the area until they finished with our little one and left quickly after paying, regretting that I did not say anything.  Once I got in the car, I saw blood on the center console and all over my wife's purse and white shorts.  Her toe nail had been cut too far back, which I know happens, but given the entire experience, we both went inside to have her mended up and complain.  Their only excuse about the treatment of the dogs was "well it wasn't your dog".  Disgusting.  I feel horrible about ever bringing our dog to this groomer.  We demanded our money back, which they reluctantly gave, but it does not even begin to make up for the horror I experienced when they were not aware I was in their store.  I strongly recommend that you find somewhere else to take your furry friend when they are in need of grooming. more

Good: The people here are fantastic. Not only did they go over how I wanted my 3 cockers cut, they were very nice personally & wonderful to my dogs. They look like "show" dogs when finished! Thank goodness they don't charge "show" prices!!. more

My girlfriend and I took our Yorkie there for the first time today (7/11/2009) and the customer service, along with the actual grooming service performed was excellent. We came home with a new dog! Also, the cost was just right. Highly recommended. more

I have a 4 month old goldendoodle. We really didn't want our dog to look too "poodley" because she isn't a poodle. She is her own unique breed. The women at Dog Groomers of New Jersey took the time to discuss with me the exact look we wanted her to have. When I picked her up I was thrilled! The style and cut were perfect for her personality and breed. They went above and beyond and did the job right. There prices are more than fair. I had expected to pay about $20 more than I did. That thrilled me as well! I will continue to use their services for my dog and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing dog grooming services. more

The Staff here is knowledgeable and cares about your dog. They will spend the time to do a good job. I have been there twice and have been very happy with the results and price. more

During the summer time my family tried these people out. I have a handsome little schnauzer and they groomed him beautifully. They were very gentle and kind with him. Finding a good groomer is hard but it all worked out for me. My little Quincy was in good hands. The price was cheaper compared to my usually groomer as well. more
