Let me be very upfront here: I don't like their products. What I do like is their attitude.
Dixie Mattress is not the cheapest, the workmanship is not the top of the line, their store is dusty. Their idea of "customer service" is to say to someone who walks in the door (gruffly, I might add) is "What do you want".
Dixie has refused to sell out. Their store window looks just like it did 20 years ago. The pressure from the neighborhood association to conform has gone unrewarded. The yuppie-fying and gentrifying of the neighborhood defied.
They are not there to make a statement. They are just there to sell mattresses. And they do.
