Dixie Homecrafters

We had recently put a large sum of money into repairing and renovating the exterior of our home. When it was completed, we knew that we needed to have gutters installed. We contacted Dixie HomeCrafters / GutterGuardian. They sent a rep to our home. He was courteous and we decided to install what we thought to be a professional product. It was conveyed to the sales rep that we had spent approximately 6K in painting the exterior of our home and a lot more for the hardiplank siding, etc. The exterior of our home was brand spanking new....until the crew from GutterGuardian installed the gutters we requested. When they left, there were gouges in our hardiplank siding where they put ladders up with no protection or consideration to protect. There were scratches and black scuff marks on the front of our home. The NEW Gutters that were installed were scratched up as well. I immediately contacted my sales rep. He was very professional; however, the crew who installed the job and Larry L., the ""General Manager"" were absolutely unprofessional. It was difficult to get anyone to come over and LOOK at what damage had been done. When there were phone conversations prior to having someone come on site to see the damage, I was treated as if I was over-reacting or I was a liar. When the crew leader who installed the gutters called me, he basically said it was my fault the damage occured and it could not be helped due to the fact that the hardiplank I used to cover my house was soft material and I should expect some damage. (In spite of the fact that I had three coats painted on the exterior of my home and ladders were all over it and never was a scratch seen prior to Dixie HomeCrafters showing up at my house. I withheld payment until the damages were repaired from my contractor. After the snide comments from Larry L., manager, I was not about to give GG or DHC any chance to further damage our home. We have yet to finish renovating the back of our home. At that time we will need new gutters. It is unfortunate for me that we will have to contact another company to install gutters or even utilize a different kind of gutter because we would never use or recommend GutterGuardian or Dixie HomeCrafters ever again due to the poor workmanship and unprofessional manner in how they treated us. I would never have this company do anything for me. I seen them at the Home & Garden show. Needed a quote to replace windows and they told me that if my wife wasn't present they would not quote me. I am making the choice, not her and I told them if that is a requirement to pressure my wife into buying their product do not bother even stepping foot on my property. It to 4 trips by 4 differnt crews to fix the problems the installer caused. The managment of Dixie so called home crafters did not handle my complaints in the right manner, instead of sending a company employee they just kept sending a different sub that had no clue what the problems were. I will never use this company again and would suggest you don't. Larry the so called general manager is clueless on how to deal with complaint, his answer is we put thousands of these gutter gaurdians on a year without a problem, it must be you.
