Excellent Italian food by Amanda N. at InsiderPages 4/1/2008

This place doesn't look like much from the outside (and the interior is unique), but the food is fabulous. It's a little on the expensive side, but the portions are huge and the service is very good. The eggplant parmesan and fettucine alfredo are both great, and they have a salad bar, too. I highly recommend Di Cicco's. more

Over priced Standard Italian fare 5/3/2007

We decided to try Di Cicco's because of a coupon in the entertainment book only to find out that when using such a coupon they will add on a 20% tip even when the service is mediocre at best. I am all for the hands off let me eat my food approach, but after asking to have my food boxed it took about 10 minutes before the waiter returned to take my plate to box my remaining meal. And then it took another 20 minutes or so after our plates had been cleared for them to get our check to us. The food was ok, the calamari was flavorless and the sauce tasted as though it came from a bottle. The veal fantasia was good, but the entire meal was WAY over priced not to mention the addition of the tip without the service to match. No reason for us to ever go back, or recommend it to any friends. more

Shabby treatment = no return 6/1/2006

Been there a few times, taking out and eating in. The service is rather slow. When an order is placed and pick-up time agreed upon it is not nice to make the customer wait an additional 10-15 minutes...more than once. The ambiance is nice, the food is actually good, but I just have not felt welcome on the 2 occassions that I have dined in. The staff and Manager were neither friendly nor helpful, so overall, I would not recommend this venue. Cons: Price, Attitude more

letdown 3/12/2006

We were disappointed at Di Cicco's. PROS: The house Cabernet was excellent. The calamari was very good. The service and ambiance were very good. CONS: The FOOD! The complimentary bread was quite whimpy -- too soft wih no flavor, served with flavorless olive (?) oil and vinegar. The vegetarian pizza had OK crust, but bland (bottled?) sauce, canned mushrooms and olives, and tasted more like an American pizza than an Italian one. Even Domino's use fresh mushrooms!! For the entrees, the pasta was overcooked -- definitely not al dente. The sauce again tasted canned. There were no fresh herbs on any food. You just can't make good Italian food without good extra virgin olive oil and fresh herbs.... A disppointment! Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Wine Cons: Food, Food, Food more

Great food at family style place! 1/6/2006

This is a small, family owned restaurant. It is not a trendy, upscale, flashy place... it is a place to sit back, relax and enjoy some good food. The decor is dated but the food makes up for any shortcomings in ambiance. It is great on Saturday night to visit and listen to the piano, ukulele & singing of old, traditional Italian songs. The menu has a lot of variety and the prices are great! The food is delicious and the quantites are large. If you want a trendy, snooty, overpriced, restaurant, this place is not for you. If you appreciate family owned restaurants and good food, visit Di Ciccos! Pros: Food, Menu Variety, Value more

Atmosphere was hokey, mixed lighting, plastic, movable salad bar (with wilted and brown greens no less) and vinyl booths. Wine by the glass list was dismal. The house Chianti was poor to say the least I think it was one with the wicker basket which is known amongst wine drinkers to be the poorest of chiantis. I had the "homemade" Gnocchi and soup. The large portion of Gnocchi was uniform and chewy, I doubt it was homemade. Sauce was quite acidic and reminded me of sauce you use on pizza. White bean soup was ok. Wondered about the bread, it looked hand made but I am not sure. The olive oil used for dipping was so bland that I swear it was a pure (Lower quality) rather than extra virgin, I recommend using the butter that was also supplied. Service was good and prompt. I passed on dessert. Pros: price, breadth of menu, portions Cons: food quality, wine list more

Justa Like Roma! 10/9/2002

When you are seated in this quaint little restaurant, the ambience just grabs you and pulls you in. What it feels like is sitting in the middle of a restaurant in Rome and the food is just as good and authentic. A great date restaurant... cozy, romantic and great service. Members of the Rat Pack singing in the background makes it perfect! Pros: Good Parking, Romantic, Inexpensive more
