Most uncurteous and unprofessional staff. Last summer I went 10 days without airconditioning and 6 so far this summer, not to mention the heater problems in the winter. Beware of this company, stay as far away from it's properties and staff as possible. I'm lucky to be out in a couple more weeks. more

I rented a house through this company for nearly 4 years. I was aways faithful in paying my rent on time and in full as well as I took care of the house I was living in as if it was my own. My standards of cleanliness were high and I made sure to go out of my way to take care of any minor repairs needed. Throughout my years renting in this 60 year old house many repairs were needed. Most of the minor repairs were done in a somewhat timely matter but usually in the cheapest way possible. A bedroom door handle was broken, they fixed the part and did not replace the handle. Not even a month later the handle breaks again. The last year of renting this house there were several repairs I requested and they fixed. This included the kitchen tile, which was severely cracked and damaged from years of wear. The damage was so severe that it became dangerous for anyone to walk on the tile barefooted. This was especially a problem with me having small children in the house. Other repairs also were never done, including the shower tile which not only was leaking water into the wall, but was nearly impossible to properly clean. There was a broken sliding closet door which was never repaired, and the majority of the old crank windows did not open. I reported all these needed repairs individually as well as during the yearly inspection of the house done in January 2011. All of this added to my frustration with Desert Realty and impeded my desire to move. Moving out of the property I completed all of the requirements needed to get my security deposit back in full. This included filling in nail holes, cleaning, etc. I intentionally took time off work on November 1st, 2011 so that I could be there during the inspection walk through. The inspector was pleased with what he saw at the property and was friendly and helpful. I was lead to believe everything is fine and I should receive my security deposit back in full. Sure enough that was not the case. They kept $200 of my deposit for what they claimed was requests from the new tenants to have the old wood floors cleaned and several of the cheap sun warned shades replaced. I disputed the deductions and was not given a fair opportunity to defend my case. I strongly suggest NEVER renting from Desert Realty if you want to be treated fairly and with respect. Most of there employees have been working together for many years, and this has shown me only that they have mastered the art of cheating their tenants. They are cheap, rude, and only care about their own accounts and not the owners or the tenants well-being. more

This is the absolute worst property management company i've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I'm currently renting a house from them (BIG MISTAKE... I literally CANNOT wait until the day i can move from this place!!) Every time something goes wrong they act like its going to kill them to get the repair person out!! They are cheapskates and so are the people who use them to manage their properties!! The office staff is the worst ever, they hang up on you (Even though they are the ones who get you all riled up in the first place) and then they get an attitude with you. The lady who works the receptionist window has the worst attitude and DEMANDS you to pay for a repair that they are responsible for I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying anything to her when i go to pay my rent!! I pay my rent on time, i do not bother my neighbors or anyone around me and they treat me like i'm a piece of dog c%$p on the bottom of their shoe!!! Thanks to these money hungry jerks i'm out 55 bucks (not a lot but time's are tough and every little dollar counts) and probably another for the repair they were called out for recently!!! (i only paid it so the stupid receptionist would get off my back cause apparently she's going to starve or won't get paid if i didn't pay it) BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A RUNDOWN P.O.S HOUSE THAT THEY REFUSE TO TAKE CARE OF EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BY LAW!! more

First off it was a red flag when the lady did not know any information when she showed us the property to rent. My wife and I decided to ignore her thinking that she was just stupid boy were we wrong. We moved in and the back yard was a mess and most cabinets were broken. Also a window was also broken. They said it would be fixed when we moved in it was not. Took 2 week to get these things fix. They never cleaned the yard did it myself because got tired of waiting. Then they want to come in to do a yearly inspection which I thought was weird apparently it is required for the lease. Upset but agreed she was 1 hour late for the appointment had to miss work. Very nonprofessional turned in place with after year. Got only 300 of a 750 deposit back because I spent 4 days cleaning up the place but it was not up to their par. 150 of that taken off was because the yard was not up to their standard. Worst company ever DO NOT USE all are idiots. more

Do not rent a property from them because this company retains a portion of your deposit by deducting for services that are either not required or not performed. Cons: Defraud on deposit refund more
