Beware of over-payment. Rude office staff. 11/20/2010

The office staff is terribly un-professional and rude. After the service is provided, the office staff consistently badger me with, "Please pay the ESTIMATED balance that insurance might not pay for." I have excellent insurance,have NEVER had an outstanding balance, am fully capable of and am always paid in full upon receiving my very first statement, AFTER insurance is filed (which by the way is the law). That "pretend" balance they ask for is always more than what the balance will truly be after the claim is filed. Yesterday, they tried to do it to me again. I told the receptionist that I work for a Medical Billing company, and they are NOT allowed to do that to patients and that they could really be in danger of being audited for fraud. She was extremely curt with me and repeated that it was "policy". I wonder if the Dentists really know what their staff is doing...if this were MY practice, I would want an ethical staff working for me who demonstrated professionalism and con more

Horrible 3/3/2008

After reading some of these reviews I'm glad but livid at the same time that what I experienced there with getting a filling wasn't the only incident that has happened at this practice. My tooth with the filling in it hurt worse than it ever did without the filling, and I was in full pain during the whole process and even told the tech/dentist woman that I could feel everything and it hurt. She told me to just hang on it's almost over...15-20 minutes later...with no extra dose of the local anesthetic. It still hurts like crazy 6 months later, and they tell me its something I'm doing wrong at home and I need a root canal. Yes, this sounds just like the other reviewer's story. I'm going to seek another dentist. more

Check your bills carefully 12/8/2006

Watch out. I have excellent insurance. Three times I went to this place and paid by check what they said the amount was that my insurance would not cover. When I got the statements back from my insurance company, I realized the insurance had paid them for the things that they had me pay them. I had to call them each time to tell them THEY owed me money. I did get it back each time, but makes me wonder just how many people is this office ripping off? I finally found another wonderful dentist. more

traumatized my chid and aweful practice 3/4/2006

Dental associates has lots of hours available...yet i could never get in. none of the Drs are hardly in...it's all techs...great if you need a cleaning, or something simple...not okay to need a filling or more. They were cold, uncaring, long waiting periods. My son was traumatized. you tell them you're in pain and they just say, no you're not, you can't be. hello, you can feel what i'm feeling? my child is crying and screaming for nothing? they do not sedate, have no patience with children. blamed my very well bahaved (opinion of NEW DENTIST) for not being able to complete work...insisted we'd have to hire and outside anestetioligst for $400 to sedate the cild just for a filling. funny, my 6 year old has now had 3 fillings they did replaced (bad fillings) and 3 more and not had to be sedated and acted just fine. coincidence? i think not! incompetent staff and Drs. we now travel 30 minutes to derby for a wonderful dentist (dr brent nelson). thier loss! PROS: lots of hours more

Flexible Hours! 2/19/2006

Dental Associates has late hours several nights a week, as well as weekend availability. Plus, when our company switched insurance companies, they decided to accept our new insurance even though they previously hadn't. more

Dentists need more education 10/6/2005

Despite their promise of Flexible Payments, you must qualify for "Care Credit." After over 15 years of going to this dentist, they refused to help me pay them for some tooth work, made necessary by their inadequate treatment in the first place. After having a tooth filled, I returned several times with continued complaints and each time the dentist looked at it, said nothing was wrong, and asked for his $70. I dropped over $400 before finding a new dentist who discovered the filling had left a gap and my tooth had continued to decay under the filling, requiring a previously unneeded root canal. more
