Demo's Greek Food

My friends and I had been eating at Demos about once a month, but never will again. The other night, there was a mistake with our order (the same thing we always order). Instead of apologizing and replacing it, both staff and management were rude, sarcastic, and accused us of lying. On top of that, the food that we DID receive was of terrible quality. Both my friend and I have waited tables for years, and are familiar with customer service. I was stunned at the treatment we received, and will discourage anyone I know from eating there. more

Went to dinner friday and was appalled at the service!!! Went with my roomate and son. My son ordered a regular gyro with motzerrella. The lady at the counter asked if we wanted the cucumber sauce on the side and he said no on the sandwich. Well for whatever reason he did'nt like the way the sauce tasted so he asked me if I would take it back and ask for another one. Well when I take it back the cook and front counter person start arguing with EACH OTHER about whatever in spanish and finally the front counter person says ""we'll re-make it but with less meat and cheese""....... And sure enough when we get it, it is the MOST PATHETIC gyro I have EVER seen!!! I am truly dissappointed. And one other observation... In all the times I've eaten there it seems that the crowd keeps dwindling. It used to be packed on a friday night, but on this friday at around 6 pm there was one table of about eight and ours of three... Perhaps it's because the staff is very rude??? 2 hours before they close on a friday night we come in for dinner. The food here is good, but overpriced. The service is dismal. We order two teas with our meal, but when we go to get it, there is none. I tell the girl, but they say they are not going to make anymore - even though I already paid for it. they don't even offer me my money back. seriously???? Maybe this is a great sandwich and fries place, but the salads and other dishes are the worst. The spanakopita (spinach pie) was old, cold, and tasteless. The Greek Salad and Village salad are small, lacking in fresh vegetables, and very overpriced relative to what is offered. To call it a greek restaurant is like calling PF Changs real chinese food. No, wait. PF Chang's rocks next to this dump. Cons: take your pick more

I am a regular at this place, and you have to really pick them on a good day. Some times the server's just seem to be off in la la land and don't really care if the customers get served, but most of the time the manager is in and it's a different story. The food is great and the decor is good; which is the only reason we go back. Pros: good food Cons: flakey service more

After deciding San Antonio had nothing to offer but cheap Mexican food, I accidentally happened upon Demo's. What a breath of fresh air. The most exquisite spanakopitas (flaky philo, flavorful spinach and feta -- mmmm) and meaty gyros (tzatziki sauce to DIE for), and cheap cheap prices. I didn't even like Greek food before I tried Demo's. Used to think gyro meat was disgustingly overspiced and dry. Not so at Demo's. The perfect amount of spice and juiciness, topped with a creamy and flavorful tzatziki. And the prices! You couldn't find a better deal at Mickey D's. Pros: ambience, price, flavor Cons: didn't find it sooner more
