Elegance 1/15/2006

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is a thoroughbred racetrack in in the seaside city of Del Mar, California, and approximately 20 miles north of San Diego. It is known for the slogan, "Where The Turf Meets The Surf." It was built by a partnership including Bing Crosby, the actor Pat O'Brien, and Jimmy Durante. The track races from July to September and draws heavy crowds, especially on opening day. It's definitely the best racing venue in town. more

Not just another day at the races 8/18/2005

I love Del Mar Races! Any day at the races is a good one, any bad day at the races is better than any good day at work. For admission starting at $5 dollars this is something for everyone. Reasonably priced food and drinks (sure they make that up on the waders) and the ability to bring in your own lawn chair, it's almost like a picnic. The races have been running for years and you still get that feeling from the old days when Hollywood stars could be seen in the glory. Friday's they offer up some of the best local live bands.
