Best experience I had in the city!! 10/2/2007

I simply want to to say thank you so very much to Paolino and his wonderful staff for a perfect evening event . My guests were impressed by the private room set-up, the friendly and efficient service as well as the wonderful food taste and presentation I really really appreciate all the work and the details Paolino and his staff has helped me setting up this dinner. Dekk is an amazing place!! more

Great atmosphere, great food, great value 3/10/2007

As new residents of Tribeca this has become one of our favorites and a great fail-safe option for any occasion. The food is delicious and the cozy surroundings and movies they play make it all more enjoyable. Dekk offers consistently delicious food at a bargain price in the neighborhood. We've tried many dishes there and all have been tasty--from the pizza to the salmon to the salads and the pastas. The bar area is gorgeous as well and it is nice to see the sames faces in the waitstaff when you return. Pros: Cost, wines, food, atmosphere Cons: Can be loud on jazz night more

Great local spot- 2/9/2007

There are tons of amazing places to choose from in Tribeca- Megu, Nobu, 66, Bubbys etc. However- During the summer, the outside dinning, vast menu and wine list make Dekk an ideal Weekend destination. Oh- Reade St. pub is also across the st. and we all love it there! Pros: They have movies playing on the walls while you dine Cons: eh- the price just went up on my fav steak! more

Great place to join friends for a drink either inside at the bar or out on the deck no pun intended. Large glasses of wine...a plus, great salads and overall enjoyable atmosphere. more

Great place for a screening... 6/2/2006

We had our graduation party at Dekk and used the screening room to show some student films. It worked out beautifully and we found the management to be really helpful and easy going. Our waitress was very sweet and did her best to serve 35 people in the dark while taking time out to help us with the media equipment. Though the party room isn't completely sound proof, the overall experienct was terrific. It is hard to find an affordable screening space in NYC, and Dekk exceeded our expectations. more

I love this place 2/28/2006

whenever I go to DEKK I feel welcome and know that I get a good value for what I request. I don't understand the previous post... overpriced? have you checked other restaurants in Tribeca? I think that you get a lot for your under $30 dinner... movies, good food, great atmosphere and people... yes the staff maybe a little unexperienced but they are never rude. and corporate parties/events... I had my birthday party there and it was the best... this place is different and I know that the owners are trying to make this work and they are putting in a lot. I will support this joint because there are not a lot of these places around here... where people try to provide a fun and valuable dining experience Pros: great atmosphere, great food, nice people Cons: inexperience more

Over Promise and Under Deliver!!!! 2/13/2006

This restaurant continuously over promises, and never delivers. This is the last time. At first it looks like a fun place to meet friends and have an appetizer or two. Maybe slip in for a dinner and an old flix. Don't bother. Rude staff, over priced food, bad movies. However, if you are interested in booking a corporate party/major event. Contracts don't mean anything here. They overbook events leaving one at risk of being out in the cold out on the Dekk! Pros: Decor, Location Cons: Price, Food, Service more

Trendy Kid Friendly Restaurant in Tribeca 12/31/2005

My Wife and I go to Dekk about once every 2 weeks but we still feel like a regular every time. The wait staff and hostess are among the best in the city. The restaurant is trendy and upscale but still kid friendly. We do not, but you can stay and watch movies on the theater screens with friends. The food is quite good although not award winning. The beer menu is great and the bar is a full bar. Summer time on the ""Dekk"" is wonderful. Highly recommended. Pros: location, atmosphere, staff Cons: menu more

Great for afterwork fun 7/19/2005

I went with friends from work for a party- drinks and food for $35. I didn't go in on the deal but there seemed to be some specials anyway. It is not a place for cheap booze but its cool atmosphere makes up for the price. The staff was nice and the food was good. The open doors on the front and the fans make for a really airy atmosphere. It got a little crowded and it seemed like we were getting in the way of the wait staff. Overall, a good time was had by all. Definitely will go back! Pros: good food, great atmosphere more

Excellent Service 6/8/2005

I often go to Dekk for a drink after work since I live down the block. It's pretty hip but the staff are very friendly. I called Dekk one night (pretty early, around 10pm) to complain about the noise, and the manager was very courteous and promised to turn down the music. I didn't expect him to, but within 5 minutes he did. Kudos to Dekk, who cares about their neighbors!! Decent drink selection, I recommend the BLT and fries. Pros: Good Service more

Slick Grooves 6/2/2005

I was a big fan of the original bar/restaurant in this same space about a year ago. It was low-key and real. The new owners have turned the place into a scene; and they've done it well. Not overly pretentious (except when the wait staff decides they need to be), the place is well designed, spacious, and hip. Although Dekk has a movie theme, the truely best thing about this bar is the tunes. Monday night's jazz is great... But check out the new Tuesday night gig. These guys are hot. Organic grooves so smooth you'll spill your drink. more

this joint is HOT!! 5/29/2005

oh my god! that was so much fun... so I stared the evening at the bar hangin w/ the cool bartender(kinda cute too),before i got completely wasted by all the fun cocktails my date showed up,(yuck) and we had dinner in the screening room. There was some sort of argentinian band playing which was fabulous b/c i couldnt even pay attention to my date so fun!!!!I had smoked salmon , he had a pizza,of course hes a boy and since there was zero conversation, i checked out the downstairs lounge, behold !!!more digets...sooo i will be back. check it out its not that far downtown!!! more

too BAD 4/11/2005

The service is indescribably awful! The first time it was rather rude and the second time we could not get water after asking at least four time. I had to finally get up and go to the bar to get it. The fish tasted good at first until I realized that the yellow sauce was made up of about two sticks of melted butter. It's a shame because the place is a good concept. I don't know how they will make it in the increasingly demanding customer market if they do not improve their service. Pros: space, outdoor seating Cons: service more

Management extremely difficult to work with. I had a corporate event planned and had to cancel less than a week before. The management was rude when I made repeated requests for a contract, then thy tried to sell the room out from under me without ever finalizing our details. We had no choice but to move to a different location. I do not recommend Dekk for any private events. Cons: Management more

Great New Place! 11/25/2004

Checked out the new place in Tribeca, Dekk. It's in the space where the Italian restaurant Luca used to be on Reade Street. First of all the place looks great! Nice bar, movie screens, comfortable seating if you want to eat dinner. The food is good, drinks are fantastic and the bartenders very friendly and great to look at too! I go to a lot of places in Tribeca and I definitely recommend this new spot. It's great to have a new, hip place in the area. Pros: good drinks, atmosphere, HOT BARTENDERS! more

Perfect! 11/19/2004

This is a perfect neighborhood place to catch a drink with friends. The atmosphere is great. The crowd is mixed - the type of place where you can meet people and really talk to them. Drinks are well mixed and staff is pleasant. Maybe not worth a cab ride from the upper east side but great if you live in the area. Pros: Well lit, Good music, atmosphere more
