This is the worst experience I've had at a doctors office. I was looking for a thorough, compassionate doctor that would help me with my severe irritable bowel disease. It's ruining the quality of my life. I made an appointment, they asked me to bring in my past test results so I did. As I waited to see the doc, the office manager and the doc decided to reject my case and said they couldn't and wouldn't help me. This was so upsetting because I was so sick with cramping, nausua, weight loss and diarrhea that I could hardly drive myself to their office. I was sent on my way with a ""rejected"" stamp on my files. I can't believe this doctor wouldn't even give me 15 min. of his time to let me explain my symptoms. I got back in my car and just cried because I so wanted and needed to find a doctor that would help me. My daughter called a few days later to get an explanation. She was told that the doc doesn't do second opinions and IBS is very hard to treat and it's his right to refuse patients. She tried to explain to the office manager that I was extremely sick and emotional but the manager wouldn't let her talk. When she tried to get a word in, the manager insulted her then hung up on her. I'm not exaggerating, these are the facts, as hard as it is to believe. My quest continues to find a caring, thorough physician that will give me 15 minutes of his or her time, wish me luck, take care! more

I recently made an appointment with Dr. De La Torre for severe heartburn and was able to get into see him very quickly. I found the staff to be very efficient and professional. I didn't have to wait long to see the doctor and I felt very comfortable with him. He said based on my symptoms that I most likely had acid reflux and scheduled me for an endoscopy, which I had today. The procedure went very smoothly and he told me I have a hiatal hernia. I would highly recommend this doctor! more

I called to make an appointment with Dr. DeLa Torre from work, and after the receptionist asked very stupid questions, like: If I saw a Gastro doctor before, and I said, yeah...in 1998, and he said, ""Can I call you back?"" This was after I had told him the reason why I was coming in, I feel very discriminated against!!!! To say the least, this Alex guy was tring to see what? ( with his questions? ) Pros: Nothing...A waste of my time! Cons: Trying to Diagnose over the phone? more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR, I WAS HIS PATIENT SEVERAL WEEKS AGO AND I COMMENT TO HIM THAT THERE WAS AN IRREGULARITY WITH THE PERSON WHO ANSWERS THE TELEPHONE IN HIS OFFICE, BUT HE WAS VERY RUDE AND HE SAID THAT DON'T TRUST ME, THAT HE HAS LOTS OF WORK, LOTS OF PATIENTS AND HE CANNOT CONTROLS THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN HIS OFFICE. \r HE IS VERY PREPOTENT more

I am so comfortable with Dr. De La Torre. He never rushes me. Always goes over anything and everything that is on my mind and never makes me feel that he can't fix anything that's wrong with me. I have had Crohn's Disease for the past 50 years and it is very reassuring to me in my advancing years to have such a wonderful Doctor taking care of me. JIN more
