For a girlfriend's getaway we decided on Minot for the State Fair. We booked the room in the morning but because of hearing that the rooms were often dirty we were leery and kept looking for another room at a better, cleaner place. We found a better room, closer to the fair grounds and that afternoon cancelled the room at Days Inn. This was a week in advance of our stay. We have friends that stayed at this Days In that weekend and their experience was worse than anyone could expect. Then the horror started. The manager had charged our card for the stay. Even though we'd cancelled it the same day it was made. When we spoke with the rude manager she told us she didn't have time to talk to us and that her employees didn't make this sort of mistake. So we got online ad spoke with someone from the main office, Kathy. She told us the room had indeed been reserved and cancelled as it truly was--however it had been reserved on my card that evening. This was NOT true. I told the rep in Aberdeen that I had finally gotten my phone records and the calls indicate that there was NO call to them that evening--or ever again for that matter. Yesterday they requested my phone records. Do you believe it? For $140. The manager is apparently saying neither she nor her staff has made a mistake. I faxed the records into Aberdeen yesterday and am waiting for their response. Friends that stayed there had a similar problem. Read all the reviews...they're important in regard to this place. Beware. You could be fighting a credit card error and who knows if you'll get the money returned.
Pros: It's a place to get outta the elements.
Cons: Be careful with your credit card.
