I went into David’s Bridal a few Sundays ago with one of my Bridesmaids. We knew there was a sale going on so I wanted my bridesmaid try on some dresses. They were not busy at all and the women Amanda helped us with several dresses. I had to fill out information and register so that they would be able to look up what my bridesmaids would order. I was told by Amanda, that the dress I wanted was on sale and she checked the sizes and colors to make sure it was available before we left the store. She said we had until the 27th of January to get the dress ordered at the sale price.\r One of my bridesmaids called to order the dress yesterday and spoke to Pat the manager and Pat told her “I was not in the computer and the dress wasn’t ever on sale at that price.” I had to call the manager back and inform her that the dress is still on sale for that price online. She said well it’s only in 4 colors not your color. Even though I was told by their sales rep, that I could get that at sale price.. in my color.. by the 27th of January… STILL THEY SAY NO. I tried to contact the main headquarters but no one will return my calls. #poor customer service,# unorganized, # wasted time…….\r more

A 3 out of 5 stars.\r This is basically is a department store for brides. I went without having an appointment and a sales associate was able to help me with dresses within fifteen minutes on a Saturday afternoon. DO NOT go if you are looking for a ""Say Yes to the Dress"" experience. Your sales associate (helper) will be working with at least one other bride than you, so this is not the place to go to have all the attention on you. However, I liked just being able to look around and pick out my own dresses to try on and Kim (the associate helping me) made suggestions every now and then based on my picks. I like the fact that she was not pushy nor did she try to sell me anything out of my budget or something I did not want. She was very patient through all the fifteen dresses I tried on. I did find my dress that I love! There are various sizes and ALL different price ranges which was great for me. They will give out your number to other ""wedding"" stores, so when you fill out the form at the front make sure you read the bottom and check the box that says you do not want your information given out. Best of luck and definitely stop here if you are on a budget! more

First of all, I will say that this 5/30/2012

First of all, I will say that this review is all about the customer service and NOT about the dresses. I actually DID buy my dress there, but only because I really loved the dress...believe me, I would have loved to have left without buying anything. The service was poor from the get-go. We walked in, and were not greeted/noticed by anyone by a good 10 minutes. Once we were greeted (eventually) and had filled out paperwork, we were greeted by a consultant that was initially very friendly. She sent us off to look at dresses, telling me to pick my 3 favorites and try them on. This was overwhelming, because I had a very specific dress in mind, and she didn't hint as to where I might find something like that. Nevertheless, we diligently looked for several minutes, until she came back. I expressed that I was having a hard time finding anything and suggested coming back on a weekday when the store wasn't quite so busy. She pleaded with us to stay and we did. She pulled dresses for me to try on, but didn't listen to what I wanted AT ALL. She just wouldn't listen to any of my concerns, and quickly chilled when we turned down things like a special bra and a garment bag. (We ended up buying the bra...but I already had a garment bag.) When the girl next to me chose her dress, she gushed over her and ran to get the bell so she could ""make a wish"". When I decided on my dress I was pointed to the checkout without any fanfare. To top it all off, they must have sold my information to some kind of ""bridal registry"" scam. I will not be returning. more

Unprofessional, rude, rushed service 5/12/2009

I bought my wedding dress at David's Bridal in Madison and was told they would be in touch to schedule alterations closer to the date. They never called me, so I called and made my appointment. Everything was fine until I went back to pick up my dress. The alterations lady was rude and actually forgot about me when I was putting the dress on, even though she didn't have any other customers. She didn't bother to look at my file to see what had been done to the dress or anything about me, and she acted like she just wanted to be done with me. She did have to make a few changes to my dress and did them quickly for me, but the changes shouldn't have been needed in the first place. There are a few great salespeople there who were very patient with me and kind, but overall I would not recommend this David's Bridal. Pros: love my dress Cons: few employees know what they're doing, unprofessional, rude more

Came through in the end 7/28/2008

I decided to use David's Bridal for our bridesmaid dresses....I loved the fact the girls could try on the style we wanted in the size they wear. Once our dresses came in (they came quick about 2 weeks) they had me examine the dresses to see if they were ok....we had 4 total and 2 out of the 4 were fine. One dress had a small square patch like the sticker had been left on there when the dress was dyed, and took it off once the dye was dry.....and the other dress looked scuffed in the back. When I brought this to the attention of the sales clerk she had to go get a manager. The manager looked at me like I had 2 heads and was rude. She said I don't see anything....so I held the dresses up toward the lighting and she said oh ok I can see it, but it is hardly noticeable...I said well I can see it, and we are not paying for an imperfect dress. She said well we'll take them back and steam them then they should be ok....went back later in the day to get them and they ended up being just fine.....\r A few days later I had to go and pick up the 4 pairs of shoes they dyed to match the dresses. Three out of the 4 pair were horribly dyed. Missed spots, splotchy, etc. To make a long story short it took 3 times to make them right and a new set of shoes for each girl. I was totally against ever wanting to step foot back in that store until one of my bridesmaids backed out on us last minute, and I had to get a dress with 3 weeks to spare...I called and explained out situation and they gladly ordered us a new dress on a Mon. and it was in on Fri in the same week. They charged us a small rush fee of $20, but I didn't care at that point...so I ended up having a positive experience in the end! Pros: lots of selection and sizes to try on Cons: some clerks were rude more

Pushy salespeople!! 5/3/2008

I walked into David's Bridal one evening to browse their selection before bringing my mom with me to try on dresses. Apparently this is not okay because the saleswoman continually pressured me into trying on a dress. When I told her I wanted to wait until my mom was with me, she hounded me to make an appointment for the following weekend. I finally had enough and tried to make my escape, but the saleslady actually followed me out into the parking lot and asked if I had made an appointment. When i told her I wanted to wait and talk to my mom first and see if she already had plans that Saturday, she looked like she could have punched me. The few seconds I was able to look at dresses in solitude, I noticed that they were way overpriced. Needless to say , I will not be going back and I ended up finding the perfect dress at a bargain elsewhere in town. Pros: Wide selection Cons: Pushy salespeople, chaotic atmosphere, overblown prices more

Beautiful Gowns, Horrible Service 2/24/2008

I loved the dresses! There were so many to choose from and each were available in the size I needed. However, the customer service was horrible. I was a ""walk-in"" and they insisted that I needed an appointment. I made one, for two hours later, the first available slot they had. When my appointment came around, they introduced me to a 'bridal consultant' who was helping another woman at the same time. My mother-in-law to-be ended up getting my dresses for me and helping me in and out of them. Fortunately, I found my dress. As I walked up to pay for the gown, the 'bridal consultant' took all the credit for my purchase... even though she hadn't spent more than 5minutes with me. If you want to find a great dress, go here. But bring some friends because no one else will help you otherwise!! Pros: Great selection, available in every size, many colors Cons: Horrible Service, Very packed on weekends, few parking spaces more

Long Distance Help!! 7/19/2007

My daughter was 23 days out from getting married---in Texas!! She had forgotten to order her bridesmaid's organza wraps when she ordered their dresses and was needing to find them ""In Store"". There was nothing in the Austin area David's Bridal. She found one in NYC (that's where she lives---yes, this is a complicated story!) She needed three more. So I told her not to worry, I would call around.Austin. DB/Austin looked on their computer and found several stores nation-wide with two and a possible 3 altogether in Madison, TN. They gave me the phone #. I called them and spoke with Dale. She was VERY helpful. She took my phone number and said she call me back with the results of her search. Dale called back promptly---but only could find two. As we were discussing what to do, she remembered one more place to look. And there was number three!! They were shipped out the next morning. Thank you guys so much for helping a bride in distress!!\r Sincerely,\r A Mom in Texas more

Ask For Margaret! 6/12/2006

Margaret was my saleslady and she was very friendly and helpful. She made me feel very special even though the store was busy. I highly reccomend that you ask for her when making an appointment at David's. Pros: Good prices, helpful service Cons: You have to register with them before they let you more

Thumbs Down 5/15/2006

We went there this past Friday and were very disapointed. While at David's Bridal we waited forever before we were helped and they weren't very busy. Then the lady who helped us would throw dresses on me and then disapear on the phone. My mom had to take over getting me in and out of dresses. The dress quality was also not worth the price. Several gown I tried on were 1,000 and I was shocked because they didn't look like they were worth 300. We finally ended up leaving after waiting for help for over 30 min. No one even noticed we left. I was the only Bride in the store at that time. I wouldn't recomend David's if the dresses were all for $20 it's not worth what they put you through. Cons: TONS more

No time for customers 10/1/2005

My daughter picked out 4 gowns to try on. At 5:30 the store made an announcement that they would be closing in 30 minutes. We asked for a dressing room and were told that the manager's ""girls"" were too tired from working all day and it would take at least 30 minutes to prepare for my daughter to try on 4 dresses. However, we could make an appointment for another time. David's Bridal advertises that they are open until 6:00 - maybe their doors aren't locked but don't bother attempting to try on a dress after 5:00! We will not be returning to David's Bridal - we shouldn't have to take a day off of work in order for my daughter to try on a wedding dress. more

Take a lot of money 9/15/2005

Went in to buy a wedding gown and was not asked if I needed help for twenty minutes. When i was finally asked I explained that i did not have a lot of money and was looking for an inexpensive dress. The sales lady just pointed and said ""over there"", then she vanished. I guess they only cater to people with lots of money to burn. Did not make me feel special at all, if anything they made me feel worse for not having a lot of money for a nicer dress. Pros: none really Cons: selection, service, prices more
