Very Good 1/7/2013

For our 30th, I had to find something nice to treat my wife for all the great years we have been together. DB has kept this restaurant running for years and it is just as good as it was when he opened it up. The only bad thing is seeing the damage when the credit card bill shows up a few weeks later but it's worth it. THe memory and seeing the smile on my wife's face is priceless. more

Great menu, great service 8/26/2010

If you are looking for a romantic spot to grab a nice lunch with a date, Restaurant Daniel is it. The ambiance is classy, the menu is always exquisite, and the people are friendly. Highly recommended. more

Very nice 6/17/2009

We love restaurant daniel and never miss an opportunity to dine here. The food speaks for itself. We were in Omaha, NE for the college world series earlier this week and ate at the only other restaurant that comes close to Daniel's. It was called Prestige and if you ever visit Omaha it is an absolute must that you put it on your dining list. more

romantic dinner for two 7/25/2007

The food here is delicious and the ambiance is really cozy and romantic. I took my girlfriend here and we had the most romantic dinner ever. The wine was great, the service was superb, very accommodating and the whole experience is really something to rave about. It is expensive, but well worth it, there are a lot of crappy businesses out there. more

I love Daniels! Great service and food! 5/23/2006

This is one of the best restaurant I've been to in a while. The place impressed me so much that I make an extra effort to write about it and tell everybody! The cuisine is French and it is a bit pricey but the service is exceptional and the food is great! They only have tasting menus, 3 course ($96/person) or 5 course ($135/person). Since we were short on time we went for the 3 course which includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Our server would come to our table to refill our bread every 20 minutes. There were 6 different type of breads to try. My favorite is the raisin and almonds and the buttermilk rolls! I've never had bread like that before! Our server also gave us their complimentary 3-tier appetizer--very good! For appetizer I had the Scallops and my friend had the Foie Gra, both were very good. The Foie Gra is spreads smoothly and the flavoring is just perfect. The scallops was juicy and has a citrus after taste to it. As for the main course, I had the squab, I think this is the best squab I've had ever! The meat is very tender and the sauce that accompany it is makes it perfect. My friend had the beef course, it was also very good. You can cut the meat with your fork! As for our dessert, we had the rhubarb, grapefruit served with green tea juice, and the glazed bananas, all was just great! All the portions were also very big, which is different then most tasting menu place I've been to. Just when we thought we were done and was feeling very stuffed after dessert, our server came with some freshly baked Madeline! IT WAS SO GOOD! We really stuffed ourselves. I definitely recommend this place to anybody who visits NY. more

Daniel 5/19/2006

The most elegant restaurant in town. Tables are hard to secure on weekends and most weeknights. My trick? I walk in and try to get a table int eh bar area. No, it's not as divine as the main dining area but the food is still delicious. It's a great way to snag a sinful dessert after a show or concert. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but make sure you've got a lot of credit available on your card! more

Daniel 3/18/2006

Daniel is a LOVELY restaurant & absolutely magical to take a date to. It's extremely expensive (so make sure that someone else is paying for your night out!)... but the food is fantastic, and the tasting + wine tasting menu will extend your night up to 3 hours (so make sure you really enjoy the company!). Dress up and have an incredible time. :) more

Haute cuisine! 1/13/2006

Daniel is expensive and amazing at the same time. The food is incredibly pricey, so bring a packed wallet and a special occasion, and enjoy the opulence! The decor is elegant and the staff is extremely obliging. They are well informed of what's on the menu and will help you with any questions or dietary concerns that you may have. Nothing bad to say about it - it is worth they money if you have it! more

Amazing 9/23/2005

This restaurant is deservedly considered among the greatest in the entire city. The decor is beautiful, the waitstaff is polite, knowledgeable, and very helpful, and the food is simply phenominal. Of course it's expensive, but you can't get the sort of experince that Daniel offers for much less. They have special tables in the corners that have canopies - try to reserve one of these when you call. more

Deserves the Hype 6/27/2004

Daniel is one New York's most famous restaurants. And while we're not folks who try very many of them, I can tell you that we thought Daniel deserves its place in that firmament. The setting is wonderful, the service was exemplary, and the food extraordinary. You can't ask for more than that, although I guess you should expect it from a place that charges those kinds of prices. Expect to pay $100 per person, even if you don't drink wine. more
