Amazing Studio 9/30/2013

My daughter has been dancing here for 7 of her 13 years dancing. She loves it here and would not go anywhere else. She admires all of her teachers who all have a passion for dance which shows through in their teaching. Like all dance studios it has had its ups and downs but is going way up now due to the dedicated teachers and staff currently at the studio. With the refocus of becoing a performing arts studio it has opened up many other opportunites for so many more students. I would highly recommend you come and try a class and see for yourself. more

Awesome! 9/20/2013

My 21/2 yr old has been going to The Dance Company since the summer and she LOVES it!. I love how kind and patient the instructors are. The Dance Company is family friendly and offers a variety of classes to choose from, they offer ballet, tap, mommy and me, hip hop (boys) musical theater , jazz and a BUNCH of other classes that I cant remember right now.. the best part is, you can take a free trial class to see if its the right studio for your family. more

Great place to learn! 8/31/2013

Back-to-school time means back-to-dance time, and time to return to our second home at The Dance Company. This is an especially happy occasion as we once again join friends and teachers we’ve come to cherish. I cannot begin to express the positive experiences we, as a family, have had with the staff and the teachers at this studio. The teachers are extremely dedicated and make learning the art of dance an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The Dance Company employs a number of talented dancers and performing artists, each making his or her own special contribution to the studio. One example is Miss Marina, The Dance Company’s Ballet Director AND professional ballet dancer. A ballet teacher of this level demonstrates TDC’s commitment to the importance of ballet as the foundation of dance. What a joy it is to see her sharing her passion for ballet with the students of TDC. Sometimes as I watch her teach, I wish that I too could join in and be transformed into a beautiful s more

Sometimes as I watch her teach, I wish that I too could join in and be transformed into a beautiful swan or a waltzing flower! Another example is Miss Jenny, TDC’s exuberant Tap Director. Miss Jenny brings a wealth of performing and teaching experience to her students. What one might not realize is that Miss Jenny is more than an accomplished tap dancer – she also holds a degree in psychology as well as a Masters Degree in counseling and play therapy, and is currently employed as a counselor in Tarrant County. Each Dance Company instructor has an equally impressive, interesting, and unique list of credentials!\r \r The owner of The Dance Company is primary (and, I think, admittedly) a businesswoman, but it seems she allows the teachers a great deal of artistic and creative freedom, while at the same time emphasizing the values and original “mission” she envisioned for the studio. In essence, the way I understand it, is that the studio is there first and foremost for the students, and that there is to be a level of civility and decency within its walls. In other words, folks show respect to one another: students to teachers, teachers to students, and so on. The teachers are not to use music with questionable lyrics. The recital costumes are to be tasteful. The students are expected to adhere to a dress code when attending classes. This dress code includes pulling one’s hair back for class, and not wearing attire such as “booty shorts” to class. If you are looking for a “Toddlers and Tiaras” sort of setting, this is probably not the place for you. As a parent, however, I welcome the structure and professionalism The Dance Company provides.\r \r The Dance Company offers a huge variety of classes, including basics like ballet, tap, jazz, and modern, to more specialized classes such as stage prep, musical theatre, and boys’ hip hop… the list is long! \r \r Finally, I would like to take a moment to discuss the facility. Naturally there are all the amenities one would expect in a dance studio: attached and portable barres, large mirrors on the walls, sound system, etc. The dance rooms feel big and spacious. Each dance room has a one-way glass viewing window – the students are not distracted by parents, grandparents, etc who want to watch their special dancers. Most importantly, each dance room has a proper dance floor. Please, never let your dancer dance on a concrete floor! There is a well-stocked dancewear store attached to the waiting room, and, yes, they carry Capezio! There is a kitchen (for parties, etc), and three restrooms. If you have little ones, you know that more than one restroom is a huge plus! There is ample parking available, and I appreciate the fact that parents who do not choose to wait inside are asked to come in to pick up their students, rather than have students wandering outside alone.\r \r In summary, The Dance Company has a good mix of fun, yet structured classes; well-qualified staff; a large variety of classes; and a wonderful facility. more

Caring Staff, Friendly Environment 7/19/2013

As an instructor at The Dance Company Arts Conservatory, as well as Artistic Director, I would like to respond to the previous review. First of all, ownership and management of TDCAC recently did decide to go nonprofit, not to reduce accountability (those who have experience in nonprofit work know that going nonprofit actually means greater accountability), but to be able to provide scholarship opportunities to promising dancers who may not otherwise be able to access high quality dance training, as well as to be able to fundraise and receive grants to be able to provide more enriching performance and education opportunities for our students at lower cost to their parents. \r We, at TDCAC, pride ourselves in creating a warm, inviting, family friendly atmosphere, but with that comes an inherent concern for the safety and well being of our students and clientele. While we understand that younger siblings may become restless, we also cannot allow small children to run in and out of the doo more

No kids Allowed! 7/4/2013

A great experience that turned sour. I started with The Dance Company before it was The Dance Company Arts Conservatory in mid 2011. It was advertised as a family friendly studio. The studio was run by Dana Meeks who was rarely seen. I really adored the atmosphere for the most part and loved how the teachers interacted with the kids. Because my daughter was four I was understanding of the lack of emphasis placed on skill progression. Fast forward to a year and a half later, my daughter decides to join the competition team. We are required to take 2 hours a week but decide to take three. Her teacher, Lindsey, has a full time job and all of the parents on our team are quite disappointed with the fact that our girls are quickly becoming bored with the fact that they are running the same two dances 2 hours a week and not getting the 'technique' class that we are paying $60 for. Their teacher does not even show up to their first competition. Our girls are quickly falling behind the recreati more

My opinion: Try out a class at The Dance Company Arts Conservative- the teachers are great if you don't expect quick progress. They will love on every kid that comes in. But if you bring your toddler, don't forget their straight jacket. And if you do forget it, be prepared to take your parenting insults like a woman! 3 years, over $4,000, down the drain because the owner was offended- After 3 years of being a loyal customer she asked us to find another studio because she didn't like that I said something on my PERSONAL Facebook about how she reacted to my toddler. She punished a six year old for her own insecurities. more

Highly Recommended! 10/27/2012

Highly recommended! I started my daughter at this studio a year ago and I wouldn t go any where else! Teachers are amazing and the kids love them. Always easy to make payments and shop for merchandise. The store inside is super helpful and the kitchen for parents to sit and watch is convenient. I love the people here and the atmosphere! I always feel comfortable leaving my child here because I know they will be safe and taken care of. Can t wait for my daughter to put on an amazing recital at the end of the year! more

I love our studio! Everyone is so warm, it's like a second home. My five year old has been going there for a year and a half and it's been great. The teachers are patient, the managment is very understanding and well organized, and there is a store attached so we never have to go out of our way to buy shoes or attire for dance. I never feel nervous leaving my daughter for classes because she is in great hands! And there is mirror glass if I want to watch. Definitely worth checking out. more

great teachers 8/2/2011

Great teachers, they are really impressive. The ballet instructor performs with fw metropolitan ballet and my daughter loves to go watch her dance. My daughter really looks up to her and it is so great for her to be able to learn from her. the competition director is awesome and has the best choreography. I can't wait to see the dances this year. Overall, my daughter loves it here and can't wait to get her 4th year on the competition team started. she's made great friends here. I have as well! I even started taking classes with other moms while she's in class! more

The BEST ! 7/31/2011

I got introduced to this studio by a current dancer here. I've just recently been attending classes here at the Dance Company & can honestly say i love it here already. This studio gives there full out to us. The teachers here are truly amazing, the staff is so helpful, & the people here are so welcoming! I'm just a beginner & i already have grown so much thanks to the hard work of these teachers. They'll give individual help without hesitation. No doubt this is the BEST Dance Studio I have been too. I've had no problems at all & its a relief not to deal with drama. I would recommend this Company to anyone to join. You wont be disappointed! (: more

Wonderful Studio! 7/31/2011

I have had my daughter enrolled in this dance company for over 3 years now and I couldn't be happier. You are greeted as you walk in and helped with whatever customer service you need. They sell dance apparel ranging from shoes to leotards. There is no need to make an extra trip to the specialty store. A super friendly environment where you can come and feel comfortable knowing your child is in good hands. The teachers work extremely hard to improve every single dancers skills and you get your moneys worth from every class. I've never been to a studio with such an amazing line-up of teachers! Its not only about dancing either, my daughter has proudly become part of the TDC family. I would recommend this studio to any dancer out there; from the beginners to the advanced. Also think about auditioning your child for the award-winning competition team! more
