Almost two months and still no vehicle 6/24/2016

I dropped my truck off on May 9th. The truck was to be repaired from the recent hail storm. Most of the damage was on the roof, front windshield, and sunroof. The insurance company decided to replace the whole roof. A few days after the drop off date, I received a phone call stating that the roof they ordered, arrived damaged and they would need to order another on. The roof was on "back order" and wouldn't arrive until the 24th of May. I said ok, as there was not much I can do about that, but I questioned if that was even the case. Personally, I do not believe they even tried to order the roof until the few days after they had my truck. They then realized that the roof was on back order and tried to pass it off as the first roof "arrived damage." Again I don't know what happened for sure, just that now they wouldn't even be able to initiate repair until the 24th of May. The 24th of May comes and goes. I haven’t heard any update from the collision shop. I give them a call to get an update around May 30th. They tell me that the repair is being started and the truck is in the "tear down process." It would be a couple of weeks. Again I question this. How long does it take to repair a vehicle? The vehicle for the most part only needs the roof replaced, and a few dents here and there. But again there isn't anything I can do except accept this and wait. The truck is now projected to be repaired by the second or third week of June. Again, no update from the company. The second and third week arrive and I have not heard anything back. So once again, I the customer, have to contact them to get an update on my vehicle. They tell me it is still being repaired, and it will be completed the middle to end of the next week (week of 20th-24th). This week comes and is almost over. I call them AGAIN on the 23rd (Thursday) and ask if the vehicle is finished. They tell me it is waiting on the sunroof to come in. They need the sunroof to arrive so they can put that on and the windshield and the roof inliner. They tell me they double checked and the sunroof is scheduled to arrive on this day (Thursday the 23rd). Once it arrives they will finish up the repair and it might be done on that day, or sometime on Friday. The day comes and go's. I call them up again today on Friday the 24th. They tell me the sunroof did not arrive yesterday. It is supposed to arrive sometime today and they will try and finish up the truck and it MIGHT get finished today. If not they are closed on the weekend so it won't be done until Monday the 27th. If the truck is not completed until June 29th, that would mean they were repairing my truck for 49 days. 49 days!?!? I asked them how come they told me they checked and the sunroof was still scheduled on time for delivery yesterday. And now they are telling me it isn't supposed to arrive until today? And most importantly, how come they had me drop off my truck on May 9th. And here we are almost 50 days later, and we are waiting for a sunroof? They person I spoke to had no answer for these questions. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he told me none were there and he would have one call me sometime later on today. Since I have not received my truck back, I cannot speak on their level of quality in the repair. Hopefully there will not be any screw ups causing them to have my truck even longer. They need to seriously step back and take a look at their repair process. What kind of repair shop repairs someone’s vehicle for almost two months? Why would you even accept the vehicle for repair, if you did not have the parts on hand and ready to go? Why would you still be ordering and waiting on parts almost 50 days after you scheduled for the customer to drop off the vehicle? Why do you not communicate the steps of repair to the customer and keep them in the loop on everything? How come a supervisor is not present to handle the customer’s complaints and concerns? And why on earth would you find an almost 2 month repair acceptable? more

At D.C.R., everyone is so courteous and friendly. I was treated like family. . I had a paint job done on my vehicle, which was reasonably priced. They insure that your vehicle is taken care of as soon as you drop it off. I was offered a ride when I dropped off my vehicle and when it was time to pick it up. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I did not recognize it. The car looked brand new. To my surprise, they threw in the restoration of my headlights. The headlights looked so fantastic that I could not believe they were not replacements. I want to express many thanks to the techs that worked on my vehicle. It definitely shows that you take extreme pride in your work! My vehicle was washed and detailed. The price that I was quoted was the final price I paid. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Veronica. She was very professional and a joy to work with. I highly recommend Dale’s Collision Repair. On a scale of 1-5 I'd give Dale Tanaka and his staff a 50! These were the most professional, hard-working, trustworthy and helpful people I have ever had the privilege with which to work! Their integrity and attention to detail is unmatched! They were courteous and spent extra time to explain what they were doing and why they were doing it. While I hope I don't have to use their services again (at least not soon!), I would, without reservation, recommend Dale's to anyone in need of their exemplary quality service, and have done so to many people already! You are in extremely good hands at Dale's Collision! Dale and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and put the customer first, something rare in this industry. My husband and I were thrust into an intense stressful situation Memorial weekend, my neighbor wrecked both of our cars in our driveway, totaling one of them. We initially went to a closer body shop because it is what are Insurance Co. recommended, but soon found out that this was a HUGE mistake. Soon after, we had both vehicles moved to Dale's and our stress and blood pressure went back to normal. Dale comes in early and stays late. He walks you through every step of the process, pulling details up on the computer. He and his staff are not in back offices talking with Insurance Companies, but they greet you when you walk in and are always courteous. He keeps his staff current and trained on all of the latest technology. MOST IMPORTANTLY he works for YOU not the Insurance Companies. He is honest and has integrity and will assure that you and your car are safe and whole again! more

I could not have been more pleased. The owner personally walked me through the process, explained everything in detail, and was there every step of the way. I asked for a simple two tone addition to my truck and was given the five star treatment. At one point Dale had to be away for two days and he personally informed me of this and put me in touch with Reuben, who was just as professional and reliable. I was asked about extras being performed for clarification and was not charged for their extra time and labor to get everything just right. The owner was also gracious enough to paint some fender attachments and add them to my vehicle at the last minute, making this such a great experience for me. I truly felt like a celebrity and being a military member and traveling all around the world, this was honestly a first class experience all the way. Thank you Dale, Reuben, and all the guys at the shop for a job well done! I will see you all very soon to take care of my Shelby Super Snake!! more

If you want it done right, go to Dale's. Aside from amazing automotive work, at Dale's they go out of their way to see that you are taken care of. I work a hectic schedule and have little time to handle personnel business, so rather then making time Dale just had my car dropped off at my house. Outstanding customer service. After four estimates ranging from to low to be true to ridiculous, I took my Toyota Land Cruiser to Dale's. He personally did the estimate which was very reasonable and explained it throughly. The work was professional, first rate and guaranteed for as long as I own the car. I also had a door latch replaced at much less than the dealer price. You can't go wrong at Dale's Collision. more

I had never been in a collision until recently, but seeing some friends and familys results from other repair shops, both local and not, I was not expecting my car to look as good as before the accident. After searching the internet I found Dale's and read some reviews, which were all positive, so I took a gamble. I had my car back in a reasonable amount of time, they were very easy to talk to when I had questions, and most importantly to me, my car looks fantastic! A++. They offer a lifetime warranty on their work too, so, I know I'll continue to be this happy with everything. Look around at other places if you want, but I don't think you'll find a better business to deal with, especially after the stress of a car accident. My car looks brand new again! more

100 Satisfied with body work and attention to detail 3/26/2012

I consider my self a very picky guy especially when it comes to my vehicles, well after crashng my new car of only 2 months twice in a month period Dale made everything right with the end result of my car and excellent customer service he provided as he dealt with me personally every single time I had contact with his shop. Terrific Service 3/22/2012

I definitely would recommend Dale's Collision Repair to anyone. I unfortunately was on the bad receiving end of our recent Hail Storm in San Antonio. I took my car to Dale's after I was told from another company it would take an entire week, Dale had it done in a couple of days. He even helped me out with another dent I had already in my car. I was very happy he went the extra mile, definitely knows how to take care of his customers. more
