Best in the area 9/1/2005

I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants in the area, and this is easily the best. Delicious food, great portions. The lunch buffet is not their best, but at $11 for straight-out-of-the-oven tandoori chicken and unlimited fresh naan, it's not bad. Still, stick around for dinner. It's a beautiful, big restaurant, with great, flavorful cuisine. A step above the usual dumpy looking ethnic restaurants that so much of Indian food seems to have degraded to. This is a real restaurant. more

Affordable 8/27/2005

If you want to eat Indian food in Stamford, Dakshin may be your best bet. Have been there a couple of times to sample their lunch buffet. The number of items offered are not as much as other restaurants but they do take care to ensure you get the best care. When you start your meal, a plate of fresh tandoori chicken will be served as the appetizer. I think there is no substitute for vegetarians. Dakshin is also good for its evening snacks like samosas. Overall, nothing extra ordinary but affordable. more
