If you care more about a remodeled restaurant than for the quality of the food served and they way you are treated, Dakota County Steakhouse is the place for you.
We went there on Valentine's Day 2008 only because we had a Happenings coupon that was valid anytime. We enjoyed the ambiance of the newly remodeled restaurant, even though the food was forgettable. When we received the bill, we couldn't even pay for 25 minutes as the server ignored us...did she not realize that she needs to take our credit card in order to get a tip? After she finally showed up she took our cc & happenings card, but came back a few minutes later and refused to use the happenings card! She wouldn't budge even after I explained that it was valid anytime and it was the only reason they received our business that night. Not wanting to make a scene, we paid and left.
The next day I wrote a 2-page letter to the management explaining our situation and asking for a refund of $18 (the amount that should have paid by our coupon). The short 4-sentence reply said that her hands were tied and we couldn't receive a refund.
What kind of customer service was this? I expected a refund at a minimum! If they don't appreciate their customers, they won't be in business much longer...we certainly will NEVER go back to this restaurant and will let others know of our poor experience.
