Still taste good and big portions of fries! :) 5/21/2010

When I used to go there, I love their burgers and BIG portions of French fries. In fact, I have to bring a friend over to eat with me. So you can get one combo meal and the other person can get a burger and something to drink. Than I saw a review from Michael818 saying it's no longer as good as it used to be and their reduce their portions of French fries. I had a hard time believing that so, I decided to go back there again after a very long absent. Guess what? It's just as good as when I used to go there. They still have good food and BIG portions of French fries. :) My only guess is, Michael818 is un-happy about something and that's why he gave a bad review. Don't let his bad review change your mind about Daglas. It's a GREAT place to EAT AT! :) I HIGHLY recommend going there! BRING A FRIEND with you to help you finish up the French fries! :) Pros: Too much French fries. Enough to feed 2 or more people. Cons: Parking. I recommend parking at Cupids. more

Great Taste, Large Portions 3/6/2010

I've been coming here since I was a kid and I love it! The burgers taste GREAT and the fries are AMAZING! The portions are also very big. A small order of fries will take up an entire food tray. Their food is amazing and super fresh. They prepare it all quickly and it always tastes amazing. I don't have any complaints. This place is delicious. There is seating both indoors and outdoors. Nice casual fast food at low prices and with amazing flavor! Beats any other burger place in LA. Pros: amazing spices and large menu more

DAGLAS ON VANOWEN & WINNETKA 1/17/2009

My family, friends and my relatives stopped going to Daglas long time ago as they have become cheap on fries. We used to go there because they used to hook you up with fries but, now they are about money just like anyone else, cheap on fries and the burger size has gone down really small not worth paying $7.31. The price $6.50 was fine when they would give you a lot of fries now they don't so, we don't go there anymore. They keep increasing their prices... Cons: less food for too much money more

THE BEST BURGER IN THE VALLEY!! 12/23/2008

I have been coming here since I was a little kid, and knew the original owners. Over 15 years later, this place is still the best for burgers and fries. I prefer it to In-N-Out any day!! Everything is fresh, and you can see your burger being grilled, and the fresh cut fries being cooked. Not to mention the bang-for-your-buck--- ""small"" fries can feed 2 people, and the drink that comes with the combo is enough for a family! Extra-extra large. And the burger, with its secret sauces, is the best I've ever had--and I've had a lot a burgers, coast to coast. It's the greatest secret in the valley, and I hope to have more burgers there another 15 years from now... Pros: best tasting burgers, huge pastrami sandwiches, perfectly seasoned fries, giant drinks, quick service, great value Cons: you'd never know this little gem existed unless you know someone who is familiar with the place; it is not a chain. more

pretty good!! 8/15/2008

the funny thing is i live pretty close to it and go by there regularly. never paid attention til a friend sent me a link to a article of ""daglas"" so i decided to try it out. i guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach cos i had read that all the portions were huge but when i got my order they just looked regular to me til i ate it hehe. its not bad!! its pretty good! i got the chili fries with onions on top ( i shoulda asked for cheese too) and it loooked like curly fries yummmm i got my mom the pastrami burger but i am not sure if the order was wrong or if it really does come with bbq sauce. my mom said it was good but next time no sauce. i looked at the menu and there is a bbq beef sandwich maybe it was a mistake either way i will let them know no sauce. the menu did look delicious.... i will try the gyros next time those sound good too. Pros: portions/ price / taste Cons: nothing really more

It's not just burgers and fries anymore! 4/21/2008

This place is my guilty pleasure! They make the GREATEST pastrami sandwich ever. Big enough to feed two (but only if you avoid the fries and the onion rings, and you don't want to miss either of those). Lean and juicy, very good flavor, no frills, just meat and bread and mustard and fantastic. Pros: food, serving size, speedy service, call-ahead ordering Cons: parking, seating. more

Fries deserve a spot on Food Network Best Foods 10/1/2007

I was a first time visitor to the L.A. area coming from Tucson, AZ. I asked a friend who had lived in L.A years previous if he had any restaurant recommendations. The first name out of his mouth was ""Daglas."" So, on the weekend my friend and I arrived in L.A. we decided to give it a shot. After being redirected to the right area, we finally came upon Daglas. I told my friend who had given the recommendation that it better be worth it for the drive. It was! The burgers were tasty, but the fries were amazing! McDonalds could not top. As stated in previous reviews, the small was enough to feed two or three people. I had leftovers for the remainder of our trip and still had to throw them away. Later to find out my friend that recommended the place was disappointed I hadn't brought them home with me to share. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Parking is kind of rough. But if you live there in that area, I can imagine it being a weekly ritual. My friend and I now that we have parted ways have deemed Daglas as the meeting place of our future ""reunion."" more

Best Fries and Burgers EVER!!! 9/17/2006

I grew up 12 houses away from Daglas. Every weekend we would go there if only for the fries. In High-School I would save my lunch money and get food there after school when I got off the bus instead. I now live in Simi and live for the days that we have to go to the valley because I still crave the fries and burgers!!!! We play club soccer at Pierce College or Sutter Jr. High and I let EVERYONE know about this place. We all remember the place that was great and it lets us down when we go there as adults but this place WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!!! They are just as good as the childhood memory. Their prices are so low that it will be worth it for you to try!!! I am hoping that some day they will expand and open one in Simi because there is no where else you can get such amazing fries. more

Burgers & Gyros 6/6/2004

This is a very friendly, family owned/operated establishment. A true fixture in the neighborhood for more years than I can remember. Yes, the fries are a thing of wonder. But, my favorites are the pastrami-burger, and the gyros. There are also several video games to occupy the kids. (The place also happens to be next door to a Cupid's Hot Dogs.) Pros: Indoor/Outdoor Dining, Reasonable prices, Seasoned french fries Cons: , Noisy dining area more

Fry King 8/19/2002

Was passing by and tried this place. No doubt about it, this place serves up portions like there is no tomorrow! We both had pastrami sandwiches and ordered a ""small"" order of french fries and a small order of onion rings. Mistake as ONE SMALL order would have been enough for two people, easily. They season their fries with a kind of seasoned salt, the onion rings are not seasoned, both were good, and as mentioned, plentiful. The pastrami was tasty but a bit fatty, and also served up in large portions - stacked ""sky high"". This is a place for anyone that likes to roll up their sleeves and just pig out on not-so-healty, but very tasty food. If you are in the area, it might be worth your while to stop in and give them a try. Pros: Pastrami, Onion Rings, Fries Cons: Sketchy area more

seasoned fries 8/13/2002

their fries are seasoned like no one elses. One bag can feed 3 or 4 people. Pros: cooked fresh, good service, big choice Cons: parking more

Do you want fries with that? 8/10/2002

This place has been there forever...awesome fries (they use paper lunch bags, not little Fry Bags), great burgers, slight attitude, and no bathroom. more
