I have had a great experience with Luda. I was referred by the boutique where I bought my wedding dress and I was very pleased with her work and my interactions with Luda. I have taken two bridesmaid dresses to her since and plan to use her in the future. more

I'm so glad I brought my dress here! 6/23/2011

Lutya is absolutely amazing. I bought an elaborate blush-colored Ann Barge wedding dress with a very complicated skirt and heavy fabric with lot's of beading and embroidery on the bodice, it was also far too large. Both my mother and I were worried that the dress was so big and complex that no one could make it fit. However, Lutya made my dress look like it was designed just for me. The skirt was a feat of engineering even before Lutya whipped it into shape, but she turned it into a work of art. The bodice is made up of heavy layers of fabric with a lot of embroidery and beading, but it is impossible to tell that it has been taken in by at least six inches. Lutya has always been extremely pleasant and friendly. My dress was beautiful when I bought it, but now it is lovely. When I tried it on at my first fitting, I didn't want to take it off! She let me stand there for an extra ten minutes admiring it. She has gone the extra mile to turn a very beautiful, but complicated, ill-fitting dress into something stunning. If you value your dress, do not go anywhere else! Lutya is the absolute best! more

Incredible Experience!! Definitely go here! 5/24/2011

The experience was absolutely wonderful! I came into Da Lindas with a Vera Wang bridal gown I bought at a sample sale. First off, the gown was far too big on me. It was also too low-cut, and so I wanted to add an extra layer of fabric to the top. I also wanted to add sleeves to the gown using an entirely different fabric. Essentially, I was almost making a new gown out of the one I had purchased. I had no idea how to design the entire gown so that it would look as if it had originally come that way, but Luda came up with all of the ideas. Over a series of fittings, she crafted a gown that everyone said looked better than the original! It was absolutely beautiful. Vera Wang would have been impressed! I received a myriad of compliments at my wedding-- and everyone who sees the pictures always comments on my gown! No one believed me that the gown had actually been altered! I simply could not have been happier or felt more beautiful on my wedding day! She is a very talented seamstress and it is no surprise that she comes recommended so highly. Additionally, Luda was kind and caring throughout the process-- from beginning to end. When I first came in, worried that I wanted to make so many changes, she calmed me down and explained how the whole process would work. Throughout every consult, she ensured that I was happy with how the gown looked. She always was willing to listen to my opinion and change anything to comport with my wants. She is very sweet! The entire experience was wonderful and I felt confident and secure knowing my gown was in her hands. I love my wedding gown and could not have been happier with the experience! She is truly the best! more

Great experience 4/7/2011

I had a great experience with Luda. My bridesmaid dress came in horribly made, with a noticeable seam that gapped at the waist line from all the excess material. She was very reassuring that it could be fixed, and was easy to work with. As long as she got prior notice, she offered to stay late to let me pick up the dress after hours since I was coming from work. The appointment was brief -- she had me try it on, then told me what she would do to fix the waistline. She also came up with a solution to bustle the train to avoid cutting the train. Prices were average, I'd say. $30 for taking in the sides, $30 for hem (2 layers), and $15 for bustle/reinforcing buttons. It came out beautifully. more

AVOID DALINDA'S AT ALL COSTS!!!!! 3/26/2011

Went to my first consult for dress alterations at Dalinda's in Pikesville, MD. Luda abruptly informed me once I was standing in my dress that her time was too valuable to give me a consult, she would only talk with me if I agreed to leave my dress that day with her. I told her that I didn't even know her pricing yet or what I needed done, hence the consult. She told me to please take my dress off that she did not have time to answer questions, she is a talented seamstress with an article in Baltimore magazine. I was there to have my dress altered for my wedding in 2 months, and left crying. Worst wedding experiecne to date. I would never recommend Dalinda's in Pikesville, MD to anyone, Luda is a horribly mean woman! I've never gone from being on such a high of standing in my wedding dress to being yelled at and told I wasn't worth someone's time! Isn't a consult appointment with the seamstress where you are suppose to find out what needs to be altered and discuss turnaround and price? more
