Worst

I may not be the best person to judge here. A waitress at a close-by brew house suggested we try this place. Said it was great for all ages. Hmmmmm... If you're under 22 then ...

Friendly Staff, easy-going Sundays 10/19/2008

I'm writing this from a different perspective than some of the other reviewers, as I pretty much only stop by for the Sunday brunch. The staff has without fail been exceptionally friendly, even though I have a habit of sitting around for extended periods of time with only a couple dollars on my tab. The location is tremendous, and it's great to have a place to just sit, relax, and watch the game at. Pros: Location, service more

The real truth about Cypress 5/14/2008

It is everyone's right to give whatever type of review they want for Cypress, that is what our founding fathers would have wanted. However, to say that Cypress Street is a place where 21 yr olds go is a flat out lie, probably written by someone who lives in the apartment complexes that surround. Yes there are times when the noise is above average, but that is what happens when people congregate and there is a great patio to congregate on. It has to do more with acoustics, less with annoying patrons. I frequent Cypress, so yes my opinion is biased. Yes, it does not have the best food in Atlanta, but for a bar the menu is much more than expected. I am rating the place based on overall experience. That being said... I HATE PEOPLE. I really do. I go to bars to drink and mildly socialize...sometimes, but overall I hate overly drunk people, especially drunk youngsters. In all the times I have been to Cypress I have never seen drunk 21 year olds. Youngsters go to buckhead to be jacktards. I did see a pair of new college graduates who ordered a college shot and left within 10 minutes because everyone mocked them for their "trying to look cool" shot choice. Part of me does wish there were 21 yr olds who went there, only because I might be able to find someone who was drunk enough to hook up with me. Alas, that is not the case at all and I come home solo every time I go there. Truth is though it is less the lets get wasted and make terrible decisions place and more the lets hang out and have a few drinks / grab some food kind of place. Everyone there has been nothing but nice, even the giant man of a bouncer they have is very friendly, like a big teddy bear, a big teddy bear that could rip your arms off if you ever got out of hand. Just go. If you hate it then don't go back, but chances are you will love it. If not feel free to kick me in the stomach, not the face because I am trying to be a model. I will be the bearded Indian sitting by himself at the bar. more

Horrible Dining Experience 5/5/2008

Clearly the staff are the ones writing the positive reviews. The only positive statement I can make is that the location is convenient if you live in Midtown. Other than that - awful. Pros: Great location Cons: Everything else more

If you are looking to go out and enjoy good people, food, and drinks... this place is it! Not many places in the area will provide an environment that caters to the locals like Cypress Street Pint & Plate. The staff is friendly, accomodating, and personable. Have been there a couple of times with friends and they are happy to have found a place where you can enjoy good people and great food. Obviously, the area needed it! A great neighborhood bar in Midtown! Pros: Staff, food, and closeness Cons: None more

Great Local Pub 5/4/2008

I had a great experience when I went to Cypress Street Pint & Plate. It is a great place to wind down after a busy week or enjoy a good time with close friends. The crowd is the mid-30's business elite who still like a great pub atmosphere. The different drink concoctions will satisfy anyone who enters, and the staff is very friendly. They treat their customers like old friends that all grew up together. The food was great! Everything from the meatball sliders to the fish & chips were out of this world. I have seen reviews from another who said the crowd was all 21. They obviously have not been to Cypress Street, but most likely live across the street in the condos and don't like a pub so close by. Cypress Street is a welcome touch of New York comfort in a town that desperately needs it. You will not be dissapointed. Pros: Great ambiance, great service, the best food! Cons: Not yet. more

So annoyed with this place 4/27/2008

If this "restaurant" continues to cater to the 21-year old children who get loaded on shots and beer during all hours of the day, it will never be recognized for food or service. I've been here a few times and just can't get past all the drinking and the yelling/screaming - these kids get wasted and act so unbelievably immature. It's highly annoying. From what I can tell, it is by no means a restaurant - it's definitely a frat house. I will NEVER go back to this place, and hope that it fails miserably. Pros: Yeah, right Cons: Noisy, obnoxious, annoying more

Terrible customer service 3/23/2008

While this place has a great patio that is on a relatively quiet street (considering it's in Midtown), the customer service is horrible! It took forever to even get a menu, much less have our orders taken. We also received a lot of attitude when we questioned the charge of an entree on the bill. Apparently, we were given "old menus" with old prices for certain entrees. I have no idea how we could have known that the prices differed from the menu to the computer! I will NOT be returning! more

I guess this place is for a young crowd 3/17/2008

I may not be the best person to judge here. A waitress at a close-by brew house suggested we try this place. Said it was great for all ages. Hmmmmm... If you're under 22 then maybe. As best as I could see, this place is good for two things and they are standing around and swilling beer. I say standing because indoor seating is minimal, actually almost non-existant. I guess you can go out in warmer weather which could be nice but that just means you can sit and swill beer. Bottom line....if you're looking for atmosphere, some relaxation and yummy food etc... this ain't the place. If you want to stand around with your buds, drink beer and talk loud, this is the place. It reminds me of your basic college "bar on the corner" hang out. Hey, if that's what they were trying to do then congratulations. Just not for me. Pros: Good for serious beer drinking Cons: Not good for non-serious drinkers more

Great Hang Out 2/29/2008

This is a great new place with a wonderful atmosphere, food and drinks. The menu is burgers, sandwiches, salads and snacks/appetizers. Try the meatball slider sandwiches as an appetizer. The house list of mixed drinks is great--the fresh squeezed margarita is one to order. Whether you are looking for a dinner spot or a place to meet friends for a drink, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait for the warm weather so the patio space can be utilized! Pros: Large bar, Large outdoor patio, Drinks and food Cons: Parking--walk if you can, otherwise there is a parking garage right next door more
