Rachel's Favorite Place to Play! 1/2/2012

Thank you Sarah, and all the Staff at Cubby's, for such a fun Openhouse Christmas Party with a purpose! By raising money for the SPCA you went over and above by showing compassion to dogs that aren't even your clients. You have been creative in entertaining and also making the dogs and their humans feel valued and cared for in many special ways throughout the year. I had not been a dog owner as an adult, and you have all been such a blessing to me with your patient guidance whenever I had any questions (and that has been often!). Rachel (my 18 month English Bulldog) has always been so excited to spend her days with your kind & experienced staff playing with all her pals on your activity sets (especially liking the sliding board from day one!) I know the dogs are well supervised as I have peeked through the fence when I have come to pick my puppy up at various hours. Your trained handlers interact with the dogs gently (speaking to them by name) reminding them of their manners or encouraging them for doing the right things. Not having to pre-schedule an appointment to drop off and pick up my dog has been so helpful to me as my sales calls can vary from hour to hour. Any time we show up, Rachel is always enthusiastically welcomed and allowed to join the pack she is assigned to for the day. The services you provide show your consideration for all of my dog's emotional, social and physical needs (you even will brush her teeth and trim her nails!) We have loved taking classes and I have learned so much about being a good dog-mommy in Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Obedience and Introduction to Agility. Our next class will be Therapy Dog training. I believe we are becoming professional students! Rachel and I are grateful for your vision of the awesome place that Cubby's Canine Castle is. May next year hold for you more good things than you can ask or imagine! With much love and appreciation, Marcia Williams (and Rachel) more

If only... 2/16/2011

Overall, I'm more comfortable with Cubby's Canine Castle than the larger ones in our area, but something about this place rubs me wrong. They don't allow you to tour their facility, and the owner Sarah Winkelvoss is one of the most unfriendly, least personable people I have ever met or done business with. Every time I take my dog to Cubby's Canine Castle and Sarah is there, she avoids eye contact, is dismissive and kinda seems annoyed that she has to deal with my dog. Never once has she thanked me for my business. Never a smile from Sarah at drop-off or pickup. Not even so much as a hello or good-bye! And if you don't use their other services and attend their training classes as they advise, you are treated like a second rate customer. (Maybe this is why I get the cold shoulder.) The only saving grace is that Cubby's is a relatively small facility, and the other staff is friendly - high school or college aged kids who most probably are able to keep positive due to their love of dogs and future plans working with animals. more

Best Doggie Day Care & Boarding in Area...Period. 7/15/2010

Cubby's Canine Castle is our saving grace. If we need someone to watch over our dog while we are at work, Cubby's comes to the rescue. If we need to get out of town for a few days, we can rest easy because Cubby's will take good care of our pooch. If our four legged furball needs to expend some energy or socialize with other pups, we know Cubby's is the place to be. If our dog gets into dirt, mud or other sticky situations, we know Cubby's will get her clean. Cubby's is a fantastic place and we don't know what we would do without them. We highly recommend Cubby's to anyone who is looking for a fun place for their pooch to hangout. Pros: Staff, Amenities, Overall Dog Happiness Cons: Our Dog Has Reported No Cons more

Not the best one out there 2/5/2010

my dog has been going here for 1 mo, but about to pull him out. I like the staff & he seems to have a good time. very tired when he comes home. Open 7 days/wk so very convenient. BUT my problem with Castle is I'm not able to see where they play. Only staff is allowed ""downstairs"" and you're not allowed into bldg after registration. Pick up/drop off is at the gate. also they dont take dogs out for potty breaks at all. dogs potty downstairs where they play. when i started, i was told this wouldnt have any carryover effect to my home. Had my reservations, but was desperate to find a daycare. but he's peed 3x & pooped 2x in my home in the past month. Never had any issues prior to this, so when he did it again last night, it was my last straw with Cubby's Pros: dog tired after daycare; drop off & pick up times, 7days/wk Cons: secretive? no potty breaks more
