BEWARE AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This dealership uses bait and switch tactics! I called this dealership to negotiate a price for a basic CRV. I quoted them a price I had received from another dealership, told them I needed the car in approx. 3 weeks and the person I originally spoke to on the phone (Helen) said they could beat this price. Her price was well below the other dealers so I tried securing it asap. Helen told me that she'd call me back the next day to take a deposit to lock in my price and send me a confirmation, as all of the people who take deposits had left for the night. After approx. 15 calls over the next week, I finally got somebody from finance to confirm the details Helen and I had negotiated. He said Jonathan would call me back ""in a few minutes"" to take the deposit. Jonathan didn't call back for days and every time I called no matter the time of day, he was ""with a client"". After threatening to take my business elsewhere, the mysterious Jonathan picked up the phone and confirmed all of the details of the deal, agreed to take my credit card to lock in a deposit, and said he'd send me a confirmation email immediately. He also asked me to name 3 colors, as he could guarantee that he'd get me at least one of them since they have ""plenty"" in stock. DAYS go by and many calls from me go by with Jonathan always being busy with his ""clients"". Finally, he once again picked up the phone once I threatened to take my business elsewhere. Only then, two and half weeks after my price was negotiated and confirmed and less than a week from when I need to have this car, Jonathan says that the ""programs have changed"" and he ""can't give me the car at this rate or it would be a loss for them"". He said he's fighting for them to match the price and he'll call me back in a few minutes. Once again, days go by and Jonathan is out of the dealership for the day. At this point I demanded to speak to the manager, thinking that he/she would certainly try to make things right. We spoke to the manager Alex Vargas, who was far and away one of the most unprofessional and downright liars I have ever had to deal with in any course of business. Alex said that he was aware of our situation and our conversations with Jonathan, but he was not able to sell us the baseline CRV at this price as they had ""not a single car in stock to sell us"", BUT since we need the car in a few days, he luckily did have a top of the line CRV in stock for ""ONLY $100 more a month"". Alex then pressured us that it wasn't a big deal as $100 wasn't that much money (although it was well over 1/3 of the original agreed upon monthly price). After much discussion back and forth with me expresing how disappointed I have been with him and his whole dealership, he said he couldn't do anything for us outside of calling us when the baseline CRV ""came back in"" (which he had ""no idea"" when that would happen). Not believing this story, my wife called the dealership back an hour later and asked if a baseline CRV was in stock if she wanted to come in and get it and they said ""Sure, we have plenty of those CRVS ready to be driven away"". We then called back and asked to speak to Alex, at which point we said we were done with this dealership forever, will tell all of our friends in Westchester about our experiences, and will be contacting the BBB and writing reviews on the internet about his lies. Bottom line is that this dealership knew all along that they couldn't meet this low price on the CRV. Rather than being honest and admitting that Helen spoke out of line and they couldn't offer the car for that low, they dragged things on and on and on until I only had a few days to go elsewhere before I needed the car, at which point they tried to bait and switch us into the high end model. This dealership lies and tries to cheat their customers. more

Car shopping can be such a nightmare. We have owned 6 Honda's (currently own 4) and recently decided to buy our first used Honda. We went everywhere....Long Island, Queens, the Bronx...advertized prices were often increased when we sat down to finalize the deal. We walked out of so many dealerships! Then we went back to White Plains Honda, where we have purchased 2 of our other cars (new). We were greeted by Joe Carusone. I hope you are lucky enough to meet him. He was thoughtful, thorough, patient and stood by everything he told us. He was knowledgeable about the cars, offered CarFax reports on every car, and he was also very good at seeing how I was feeling. He basically would not stop until I was completely satisfied and very happy. We interacted with several of the staff here and they really made the car buying experience quite pleasant. I am enjoying my used Honda CR-V and it has performed exactly as I expected it would. I highly recommend White Plains Honda for both new and used cars. We have had a positive experience here every time. Thanks Joe, I love my car! more

With 160,000 miles on it, we decided it was time to retire my son’s 2004 Honda that we had purchased new. \r \r We looked at other brands but decided to go with another new Honda as we had so much luck with the first one.\r \r I was discussing this with one of my neighbors who said his son had just purchased a used Honda from Keith Johnson at White Plains Honda and he was very happy with it.\r \r Although we had not considered a used car, we figured it was worth a look. I was all prepared for high pressure tactics and all the other bad things you hear about used car salespeople. \r \r Boy, was I ever surprised. \r \r First of all, Keith was no pressure. I don’t mean very little pressure, I mean no pressure.\r \r Second, he took the time to find out what our needs were and then showed us the right vehicles. \r \r On one of the occasions when Keith was out of the office for a little while, his manager Joe treated us with the same quality attention until Keith returned.\r \r All in all, this was one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve ever encountered in a car dealership.\r \r I highly recommend seeing Keith Johnson if you are in the market for a car.\r more

I highly recommend White Plains Honda. I came in looking for a used car on a budget. Joe Carusone and Juan put a lot of effort into finding me a car that fit my needs. They were very patient with my three year old son and made sure I walked away happy and taken care of. I am so happy with my car, the service was great, and I feel confident in recommending the business. \r more

Everyone was super nice and helpful, from Bob, our salesman to Joe,the manager and everyone else in the office. They don't haggle on price because they price to sell. My used car's listed Kelly Blue Book Value was thousands over what they sold it to me for. Worth the drive from NJ! more

Joe Carusone and the folks at White Plains Honda live and breathe customer service and satisfaction. we met Joe while looking for a car for my mother. they took the time to work with with us to find the right car at a great price.\r Then they continued to go above and beyond what we expected to make sure mom was happy and comfortable in her new car. ( mom is 88 and going strong) :-)\r Kudos to White Plains Honda more

I had done lots of online research looking for a new SUV. It came down to a final 3 (Madza CX-5, RAV4, or Honda CR-V). Because I didn't want any high pressure sales person involved, I scheduled test drives through Internet Sales, setting the expectation that I was comparative car shopping and not buying on the spot. However that all changed when I went for a test drive with Alberto Rodriguez at WP Honda. I immediately loved the ride, the safety features and of course all the cool stuff. I was quite adamant with Alberto about how much I hated the whole new car shopping (never knowing if you're really getting a good deal or not) experience...ugh! He was very understanding and professional. I was more than pleasantly surprised that he was very forthright in discussing his best offer (no back and forth haggling) and he showed price/feature comparisons against the other brands. Long story short, I brought the CR-V E-XL that same day at a great price in the color I wanted and Alberto personally delivered it to me a few days later. Needless to say I am very pleased with my purchase an would highly recommend making Alberto your salesman of choice! more

I leased a 2012 Accord coupe with White Plains Honda. Probably the best car buying experience I've had. The staff was knowledgeable and kind. My sales person Alex was honest and able to get me in my car the same day! Brandi was incredible, She taught me how to use all of the different features on my car. She was very patient and really .added to my pleasant experience! Well done White Plains Honda. Certainly coming back at the end of my lease more

We bought a Honda Odyssey as a certified used car at Honda White Plains last August. Since then(6 months later now), the White Plains Honda dealer has not issue neither title nor the permanent registration yet. All we have is a temporary registration. We have visited the Honda at least 5 times requesting to deliver the permanent registration immediately but the documents have not arrived in February 2013. This problem started when Honda White Plains registered us with a wrong address at the beginning, which we found out later. Their excuse was it is DMV issue now and they did what they could. \r We must wonder if there is a fraud going on or employees there have been extremely irresponsible. Don't buy a Honda from White Plains. There are other dealers in Westchester. more

Avoid this place at all costs!!!\r \r On 10/13/2012, I went into the White Plains Honda dealership to look at certified pre-owned car. I saw a 2009 certified pre-owned Honda Accord with almost 33K miles, but no price. We went inside and the salesperson, Albert looked up the price. I wanted to know how much the monthly payments would be and was told I to apply for a loan in order to obtain an accurate monthly payment rate--to which, I agreed. The salesperson asked for my driver's license, major credit card, and that I sign the loan application (which, was actually a purchase contract). A few minutes later, Albert returned with a financial manager, Jerzy, who handed me a sales receipt to sign for $2,000 from my debit card. At no point during did I agree to have my card charged. Albert, alleged that they needed to go through the procedure of purchasing the car in order to obtain the monthly payment information, and that if I wasn't happy with the figure he would then cancel the sale and refund the $2,000 deposit that I never approved. I refused to sign the charge and requested it immediately be voided. The manager, Jerzy claimed that he could not void, and that I would have to wait until the next business day for a refund. I advised him to contact his credit card merchant account rep for instruction on how to void my transaction immediately. I waited 45 minutes while he contacted a rep and was walked through how to void the transaction. The salesperson, Albert was TOTALLY misleading . Furthermore, while waiting, I was told by the financial manager that the banks were closed for the day and he wouldn't be able run my credit that evening anyway. \r \r The entire experience was awful.\r more

My experience at White plains Honda was a great one. Matt, Alex, and Brandi were extremely professional. They were very well organized, they new there information regarding the vehicle and, for once, I did not feel that any bogus deal was being offered. One thing I dread most going into any car dealership is the long wait. Going into White plains honda, I was in and out with no long wait. My overall experience was the greatest. I was treated very nicely and I definitely look forward to doing business with these individuals again. Thank you SO much guys ! more

Never Again 2/28/2011

First they quoted me a monthly lease price and we agreed on $1000 down, with no other fees. When doing the paperwork they jacked the monthly price by over $100. After refusing to pay or sign they reluctantly dropped to the original price. I was rather annoyed but got a new 2011 Honda CRV. \r \r Once I got the keys and left the lot, they proceeded to call me 23 times in 6 hours because they forgot to charge me an additional $500(read the lease more carefully than I did if you do deal with them). Yes I did sign but I was under the assumption I had paid in full and all was good. 23 phone calls in 6 hours? I will never deal with Honda ever again. more

Don't waste your time at Westchester Honda 11/23/2009

The dealer told me that they had the exact car I wanted. It was available. Silly me. I thought that meant they had the car. In fact, they didn't, but I had to go all the way there to find out. They say that 'in the lot' means they actually have the car, 'available' just means they COULD get it. Gosh, oops. There I was ready to buy. Pros: Promises Cons: Delivery more

The worst place ever 10/10/2009

First and for most the cars are great, the sales man on the other hand is another story. All they are doing is taking advantage all customers they are the ones who make up there own prices they care nothing about the customer what so ever. There is one person there a Mexican who will over some else deal and take the commission all for him self he is greedy. I have met the manger he is slick the way he talks and sits behind the desk with his car pricing sheet. And the staff there are greedy for money they at some one and say “there goes another sucker” as I heard when I was there. Plus your trade in value they totally rip you off. For example if your car is wroth 6,000 they will give you only half. I would never again go to White Plains Honda. Pros: The cars Cons: The sales associates more

Do not go unless you are willing to pay asking price 3/2/2009

Just went to White Plains Honda today to buy a Honda Accord.\r It was obvious that agents were not aware of their own products and Honda advertised promotions.\r After finding a car that I liked I have offered my price (about 20% below their sticker) to start bargaining process.\r Reaction of the manager was something I did not expect.\r Instead of simply rejecting my offer and/or giving a counteroffer he challenged me of my credibility and said that I was not willing to pay their price probably because I ""only had $2 on my bank account"".\r I saw no point for further conversation and turned away.\r Bottom line: stay away and find some decent place with real customer service.\r \r \r \r \r Pros: non Cons: alot more

Update on My Prior Review 7/4/2007

Regarding my prior review of this dealership, the owner of the dealership has proposed a resolution of my complaint which he has agreed to consummate within the next several days. He sounded like he sincerely did not know the way my situation had been handled. If his proposed resolution is completed as offered, I will be very satisfied with the outcome. I just wish that the sales department had let me speak to this man for 5 minutes two months ago. more
