Worst

The food is great and the selection of beers wonderful. If it is service you're after, go somewhere else. I would order two drinks at a time otherwise you will wait...and wait.......

Sadly this place is going to h_ll in a handbag... 10/17/2011

We have been eating at Crown and Anchor for quite a while and it used to be awesome. We liked the fish, loved the burgers and the ribeye was tasty. the last few times the food has been just bad. Tonite was the last straw, the all you can eat fish and chips came with one extremely overdone piece of fish and it took so long to the next piece of fish that the other diner finished her entire ribeye dinner before it came. it was overcooked even worse than the first piece so I didnt bother ordering any more. We ordered Bass Ale on tap and though it came out of the tap that says Bass it looked and tasted like Newcastle. I mentioned it but it went in one ear and out the other because the second "Bass" was Newcastle too. The Ribeye was ordered Medium rare and received Medium well and it was just an unpleasant meal. Really sad to see it go downhill so badly. it will take a lot for us to go back more

This is not a safe area or place to be 6/22/2010

I am a brit living here for 2 years now, i am still searching for some good British food. This place was recommended to me as a place to eat or hang out. I was mostly looking for some good old fashioned fish and chips, i was horrified on the day i visited this place. It did kind of remind me of the old british pubs we used to frequent, apart from one thing (the Cockroaches) I ordered my fish chips and peas with bread and butter like we brits would back home, i was very disappointed when it came it was nothing like good old fish and chips the way it should be, i mean how hard can it be to recreate. I did try to eat some until i saw a cockroach run by my leg, that was it i was out of there like lightning believe me this place is what is known in England as a DUMP. I love living here and don't miss England one bit except for the food if only the Americans could figure out our food, life would be perfect for allot of ex pats I found the same problem when looking for a good chicken madras curry, I am trying out my 15th indian restaurant this weekend Pros: British food Cons: Bad British food, Bad service, Cockroaches. more

not a great place to be in 8/8/2009

This is the most uncomfortable place I've ever been to. You would have to be white or be with a white person to get good service around here. Pros: none Cons: being not white more

luvly jubbly 8/16/2008

I asked for a bacon butty (not on the menu) with brown sauce, and I got a pretty decent approximation. It should have been on a hard roll, but they didn't have any. Still, the bacon, proper English bacon, is the most important bit, so I forgave the hamburger bun (closest thing they had) and just enjoyed it. They do have curry chips and chip buttys on the menu, as well as a proper English breakfast. I don't know about the beer/ale selection, because I'm just not much of a drinker. There was football on telly when I visited. Service was good, prices are good, and it wasn't too cold inside. I don't like more than a 25 degree difference between outside and inside, even if that means 80 degrees inside because it's scorching hot outside. Pros: proper english bacon Cons: college bar more

Not a Rangers Bar 6/8/2008

Best Stilton Cheese and Cabbage Soup! 2/20/2008

The food is great. The service is okay- nothing to write home about. Their late night specials are good. During the day- it is a little pricey. Pros: Good food Cons: Service has always been slow more

best fish and chip in Vegas....period 11/13/2006

awesome 5/26/2004

They have the best british burger fro graves. Anyone trying to survive in this town needs to know where to eat after 10pm. 3 bucks, its the best burger you can buy hands down. Great atmosphere, truly one of the BEST bar/pubs without selling out to gambling. Most rely on the gambling and let the place become a dive. Great place, attractive crowd and even a good date spot. awesome. Pros: Any Drink you please, attractive crowd, A "REAL" pub more

Shepherds Pie and Bagpipes 9/25/2002

Three of us for dinner. Seating can be uncomfortable in dining room. It can be very loud on Friday after five and the addition of the bagpipes blaring away doesn't help conversation even if it does add to the atmosphere. The fish and chips were great. The shepherds pie was tasty. The only place I've found for a while that has Stilton cheese. Be patient. Our waiter ran his butt off. He was nice, but had very little time for pleasantries. I felt guilty asking him a question about the food. They need more help. more

EVERYTHING is Great...Except 9/11/2002

The food is great and the selection of beers wonderful. If it is service you're after, go somewhere else. I would order two drinks at a time otherwise you will wait...and wait....and wait! The service is so poor it takes away from all the other great things about the bar. more

  • In Short
Named after its British nautical decor and high-ceilinged wooden rafters, this publick house is one of the few places in town to show a Manchester United game instead of a Pittsburgh Steelers game. But major sporting events like the Super Bowl are shown as well. Offerings include a comprehensive selection of imported lagers, ales and ciders. Authentic British grub is available, including fish and chips and steak and mushroom pie.
