Crockett Family Resort

We had our family reunion there. The beds are hard as rocks, there was sand dragged through the cabins, in the beds even, a few air conditioners, fridges and stoves didn't work or worked very poorly. The bathroom fixtures were loosely connected and I felt nervous about using them. The pool was small, very dirty and we couldn't see the bottom of it for anything. There were only paddle boats for use. The hall they have had 2 air conditioners that barely worked, so we were sweating the whole time while in there. One of my uncles went to them to complain about his fridge being out, then his air conditioner and the person attending the desk called him a curse word after he had left. This is NOT a friendly place, it's not hospitable to anyone and I would heavily suggest going elsewhere if you want an actual relaxing family vacation. Otherwise, you are paying them money so you can be miserable. more

Our boat was robbed while we paid to have it in a dock slip with video survailance. The staff did not care about theft and the parties going on - an abundant amount of beer cans were left all over the dock. Cars & trucks were permitted to drive too fast in the campground right next to the playground and where children were riding their bikes. This campground offers false advertisement as they do not rent paddleboats - resulting in very dissapointed children. No kyaks and only one canoe that seats 3 people. No amenities in the over priced, outdated cabins. An unsanitary pool area. I will not recommend this resort to anyone, no one should have to pay to be treated unfriendly, robbed and have dissapointed children due to false advertising. The cafe would not accept credit cards as they have in the past (there is not an ATM around), the cafe was closed on Sunday during a busy holiday weekend. We not provided a room key resulting in someone needing to be in the room the entire time. No picnic tables near cabins, insufficient grills near cabins. The beach area is completely unusable. I wanted a family weekend to remember as enjoyable and relaxing, instead I am highly dissapointed and violated after being robbed and will never get this time back. The pool is very tiny and dirty, the showers and restrooms need a lot of attention. No soap in the restrooms. The boat dock area is in need of repairs and a good cleaning. No grills at the campsites or firerings. Only swings, a slide and merry go round for the kids. Not very kid friendly. Exposed electrical outlets by swings and a wire running across the metal swing set between 2 light poles. We paid for a weekend rv spot and set up a tent for the boys to sleep in on our spot. We were unaware of the additonal charge per person and I was more than happy to pay that once the unfriendly staff told us about that, but they also wanted to charge us for a tent spot. We were not occupying any more space than what we paid for. If they let us have the tent spot we would have received 2 additional people for free. Now they want to charge us full price for the tent site, which we did not get or use and for all additional people. Is this a penalty fee because this was our very first time? Just an overall unpleasant experience. Pros: NONE Cons: Unfriendly staff, Unclean restrooms and showers, etc. more
