We saw Dr. Sewell when we arrived at Crestview Animal Hospital for an emergency with one of my dogs. He was great. Very thorough and did a great job explaining what he thought needed to be done test wise to figure out what was making my dog sick, and what would be done once results came in. Once everything came in he explained what was going on with him and the treatment he recommended. He answered all questions making it easy for us to get it. He gave him great care and kept us updated. We got to bring our dog home a couple days later and he is doing wonderful. The vet techs in the office also seemed really caring and were great also. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/29/2013

My dog got really sick on a Thursday morning. My vet is closed on Thursdays so I came to Crestview on the recommendation of a friend. I came here and thankfully they were willing to take me in as an emergency even though I was not a current patient. I met with Dr. Sewell who examined him and then after running tests knew that he needed to be admitted for a few days. He explained everything and even let us come up that afternoon to let my kids come visit him. We got to bring him home a couple days later and he is doing really well. Once realizing our dog was going to be okay, we were terrified of what the bill was going to be. It was more than reasonable, and much less than many other vets in the area. We have found a new vet. Even better is they have a vet there 7 days a week until 6 pm. I will be forever grateful that they were there for us. more

Best Vet in Georgia 1/3/2011

My family has been going to Crestview for over 10 years. We started seeing Dr. Benson who is incredible, and now always see Dr. Magruder. He has cared for all of our pets and we trust him 100%. He is always honest with us and will fit us in for emergencies no matter how busy he is. He even came to our home when we were going to lose our 2 year old pup to cancer and helped us say goodbye to our baby in the comfort of our living room. You will not find a kinder, more experienced vet. Would never go anywhere else. more

Healer WIth A Heart 8/14/2010

My family has gone to Crestiview since 1990. We moved here from Pgh, Pa and had a doberman with a compressed spine. At the top of our priority list was a vet who would treat her so that she could live out the length of her life remaining in as little pain as possible and with a meaningful quality of life. We found Dr. McGruder and Dr. Benson to be great vets and do their best to help heal but to also help you to realize when it was time to let go. I will always treasure having Dr. McGruder as our primary vet. He's a straight shooter with a heart. more

Dissapointed with the cost! 5/1/2010

The staff is nice and hard working, however we felt that the prices were very high. I.A. more

Crestview Animal Hospital is the very best! 12/10/2009

We have been taking our pets (cats and dog) to Crestview Animal Hospital for over 12 years. We have had several extremely ill pets that have been saved by Dr. McGruder's expertise. We live 20 miles away from this office, but the drive has been well worth it considering the expert care delivered. All staff have been exceptionally gentle, kind and concerned about our pets. I have been allowed to visit sick pets after hours and I have always seen and experienced a consistent professionalism and compassion. Pros: Expert Veterinarians Cons: Long distance from my home more

Really good experiences & fair prices 9/28/2009

I shopped around to find a vet I liked in the exit 14-17+ area & this hospital is the best I found in terms of price, friendliness & availability. disappointing that they book up for baths weeks in advance & strange that they remove the animal from the room to vaccinate & do exam but I hear they will do it w/ you in the room if you request. Overall, very pleased with this hospital & Dr. Sewell - very friendly, patient - really seems to care & will always take the time to talk to you! Pros: competitive prices Cons: very strange -they take the animals away to vaccinate them more

great veterinarians and staff members! 8/10/2009

Awesome Vet 10/14/2008

I have taken my 2 dogs for 7 years and this doctor is the best. My friend takes her 10 dogs and swears by him. He is always available even on weekends. He takes care of large animals also. more

Top notch animal care in forsyth county 8/20/2007

Dr. McGruder treats large and small animals, of which I have many. (my husband would say I have too many) I trust Dr. McGruder with my cats, dogs, and horses, and I have always been impressed with his natural ability to handle animals. He floated my high strung TWH/Arabian cross gelding with out even using a lead line. I was shocked to see my horse give in to the gentleness of Dr. Mcgruder. The compassion he showed my dog and me at the end of her life made the ordeal much easier. I really could go on and on about Dr. McGruder and his staff, however, check him out for youself if you are looking for a great vet. Pros: easy access to office, and Dr. McGruder makes house calls for large animals more

Very caring, professional, compassionate, and always available 5/27/2007

I've been taking my pets to Dr. McGruder for the last 12 years and have had the very best experience with them. He is very professional, caring, and has always taken my phone calls or returned them promptly when we needed him most. Recently my 13 year old dog passed away and Dr. McGruder was so helpful and supportive during the final few weeks. \r \r Their facilities are top notch and their prices are less expensive than other vets in the area. \r \r I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CRESTVIEW ANIMAL HOSPITAL.. more

Great Professional Care 5/6/2007

We've been using the Crestview Animal Hospital for over 10 years. They provide kind and very professional care. With 4 dogs, we probably spend much more than the average family on animal care. We feel the care and service Dr. McGruder and his staff provide is well worth the money spent. We highly recommend this facility. Pros: Thumbs Up more

Vets who treat your animals as well as you do. 10/4/2006

I have gone to Crestview Animal Hospital for the past 16 years. Dr. McGruder and Dr. Benson are two of the best. In an emergency you are able to get a hold of them day or night. They are truly dedicated to the care of animals. I would recommend them to anyone. more

  • We are a full service veterinary hospital serving the people and the pets of Forsyth County and the surrounding communities for over 3 decades. The practice was opened in 1984 by Dr. John McGruder. He is now partnered with Dr. David Sewell. Crestview Animal Hospital has grown into a busy seven doctor practice offering both routine and emergency care seven days a week. In 2012 we built a 5,000 square foot addition to the facility boasting a new reception area, waiting area, spacious exam rooms and a state of the art treatment area. We are proud to be voted "Best Pet Hospital" in Forsyth County for the past 4 consecutive years.
