I tried Creation a couple of times when they first opened but I wasn't impressed. The food as well as everything else was average.I'm not sure what happened over the last couple of months but the changes are amazing. It's become one of my favorite places to eat. I can't get enough of their mussaman curry and homemade eggrolls. If you went in the beginning and felt like I did or if you haven't been at all; It's definitely worth a try. Pros: great bar more

We would not recommend Creation. We went there for the first time on Saturday night and were very disappointed in the service. There were four in our party and we have never seen so much obvious staff dissatisfaction both within the staff and when interacting with their customers. A few examples: While waiting at the bar a server tried to place dirty dishes on the bar in front of us while the bartender was talking to us. The bartender told the server not to do that and the server made a dirty face and after some profanity the dishes were removed. After we were seated, we asked the server to light the candle on our table and she rolled her eyes, sighed, and made it obvious she thought it was an unreasonable request. When my wife ordered a salad, the waitress was visibly frustrated by having to list the dressing options. The salad was not delivered until after her food and it didn?t contain any of the ingredients stated on the menu. The food overall was ok, though the salmon was dry. The decor and menu give this place a chance to succeed but its difficult to ignore such blatant bad attitudes among the servers. The attitude wasn?t limited to 1 or 2 servers. My fiancee and I went there on a Friday night for dinner. It was busy, but not crazy busy. Our server was incredibly slow with EVERYTHING (taking orders, getting drinks, refilling drinks, bringing the check). I noticed several other diners looking around impatiently for service as well. When our food came out, the waiter dropped my fiancee's fork on the floor, insisted on getting a new one and then took a good five minutes to bring the replacement. The food was just okay. We split a salad and were disappointed by how drenched in dressing it was. The greens were literally floating. My fiancee's Pad Thai was good but the Garlic Lo Mein w/chicken was less than desirable. Had dinner a few weeks ago with three other people. Everything we got was delicious. I had a curry thai noodle dish that was yummy. Both of the fish dishes that we got were very good. Good portion size and reasonable prices. It was a Saturday night and the bar got busy but it wasn't too loud to continue our conversation. We'll definitely go back.... more

Creation offers Asian-inspired dishes in a hip, relaxed environment. Since it came to Plaza Midwood in August '05, this restaurant has become one our favorite local places to grab a casual, tasty and inexpensive lunch or dinner. While the menu leans toward Asian fare, many of the dishes have a ""creative"" twist. For example, the Pad Thai has a slight barbeque flavor - it's good but definitely different from what you'd expect. Other dishes I've enjoyed are the spring rolls and the masaman curry. The wait staff is friendly and professional, and the ambiance is laid-back. I'd describe the decor as industrial-chic - concrete floors, exposed ceiling systems, minimalist furniture. The bar area can get pretty busy on a Friday or Saturday night - and it's an interesting mix of young professionals and local hipsters. Highly recommended for a fun night out! more
