PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE A TOYOTA! We have purchased 3 vehicles in the past 12 years.Today I was driving our 4runner (which we purchased from Cox Toyota in Burl)on hwy today when suddenly the vehicle accelerated on its own!I had no control of the car.I hit my brakes & they locked up-the car kept speeding..During this I had to cross 4 lanes of traffic...even w/ my brake in the floor & emerg. brake up, the car was still moving. my brakes started burning..Thank God we got over safely and the car stopped as it was going up a hill and I was able to turn the car off. My son and I were very shaken by this event & also thinking about what could have happened. I don't know how an accident did not occur.We contacted the police & our insurance & had the car towed to Toyota. Even though we were very shaken up, the staff was 'matter of fact' and stated it was a 'wear and tear' prolbem. Then gave us a bill!!!!!! A car taking over own its own is NOT wear and tear!!
