Maybe its just a string of bad luck on my part or maybe its the type of people this building has attracted. The management certainly doesn't help but discouraging these types. In August of 2008 I had to have my neighbors arrested due to a very loud domestic dispute that had turned violent. I've had to file constant complaints against my upstairs neighbors who seem to spend all night moving their furniture around and screaming profanity (through my own research, discovered that my upstairs neighbor has been arrested for DUI and is a ""recovering"" alcoholic. Judging by the noise at nights - him hammering the wall at 2:30 AM or playing amplified guitar for hours straight for example - just how much recovery has been made is questionable). There is also a pool onsite however this summer we were told that due to ""increased costs and decreased demand"" the pool would not be opened, nor was it. There is a creek out back (East Branch of the Perkiomen) that has a notorious history of flooding. So far in my tenure it's come close twice but hasn't flooded yet. As for security my apartment has a deadbolt, chain lock and handle lock. From what I've seen this varies from apartment to apartment - mine is one of the better set-ups lock wise. The electronic door lock (the ""buzzer"") in my building doesn't latch properly and therefore anyone can just walk in. Half the time the laundry room door is left unlocked as well. There is a minor insect problem mostly in the form of house centipedes. The worst part of the apartment is the thin, drafty windows and the fact that there is an inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I think I've covered enough of the negatives. The positives include rent that isn't outrageous and included heat and hot water.
