I'm not sure if the staffing has changed since the sour parents of the1 star reviews, however I would like to say this: My daughter and I have moved around quite a bit in her life...

From an employees perspective 6/7/2010

You are absolutely right about some of the many employees of the establishment. However, I am an ex employee, and just resigned a few months ago, and oh how it hurt to leave my beloved babies. The employees only have to be as good as the people in charge, which is SO sad. Unfortunately, some parents and staff feel, the front desk staff and people in charge didn't find it appropriate to offer any support or assistance beyond bathroom breaks, and putting on a smiley face for the parents. Myself, and countless other teachers perform above and beyond our calls of duty, we had to because a lot of the staff appeared to be inexperienced or just lazy! The incident in the indoor playground had nothing to do with the incompetence of the staff; it was nothing more then an accident. An after school student got a limb caught in a ladder and broke it, happends all the time with kids, when they play with other kids. Other than that, you are absolutely correct when you say some of the staff appears to be good for nothing more than shinning up the place and putting on a smile for potential revenue, and we as teachers can only work with what we are given, I sincerely hope you find a good teacher that puts the children before the ""schools"", nepatism, favorism, and general lack of know how. It is NOT a bad center, it is just not all it's cracked up to be.\r \r Pros: Great Kids, Facility Cons: Staff, Favoritism, More interest in kids as income more

I would not take my dog there 7/27/2009

I've had my grandchild at Country Home on Fredericksburg and this is a pure excuse for a daycare. Looks pretty on the outside and of course the indoor playground and soda shop also look great but never used. Babies have their diapers changed on the floor. Can't they afford changing tables? The front office is all show and no action. Can't even get past the half door without having to turn it twenty times or reach in from the other side because the doorknob is broken. How expensive are doorknobs? They sure are good at collecting daycare fees. My dogs sitter provides better service. Cons: they're just out there to make money more

Amazing center 7/21/2009

I absolutely love this center, I personally have seen many things in other daycares that I know would never happen in this center. My kids have been attending for about a month now. Everyday my daughter talks very highly of her teacher Ms. Ana about how nice and sweet she is. Everyday my daughter wakes up and ask if we are going to school because she misses her teacher. My sons teachers are amazing as well they are wonderful with him! As far as Shana and Geneva I love them both, they are very sweet, honest and they listen! Country home is a great center, I plan on keeping my children there for a very long time! Country Home is very professional yet fun for my kids and for myself as well. I would recommend this center to anyone and everyone whom wants their children taken care of as though a parent would care for their child! Pros: Wonderful teachers and great curriculum more

The Best learning Center by far 7/21/2009

My child has been at country home since she was 6wks old and not once have a had a complaint against them. We attend the Fredricksburg location and could not be happier. Shana (director) and Jeneva (assistant Director) have always made sure that every child in their center are well taken care of. Every time I have a question whatever they are doing the stop to kindly assist me with my concerns. My child has enjoyed all the ammenties that the center has to offer. She loves the pool by far and is always so excited to come to daycare. I'm going to be sad when we have to start public school becuase my daughter truly enjoys coming to daycare. I can also feel safe at work because I know my daughter is in good hands and anytime anything happens they call me right away. I would highly recomend Country Home to anyone that is looking for a professional and safe environment for your children. Pros: Helpful Staff, Caring teachers more

Country Home 7/20/2009

I personally have had several kids in that daycare and really have not had a problem with the Director or Office staff. I do have a problem that they cannot keep a teacher for long period of time. I dont know what you guys pay the staff but you guys should consider starting them off at higher pay scale. My son always is happy on Field Trip day. Pros: Great service Cons: Tuition is way to high and teacher are like a dime a dozen. more

TERRIBLE ALL THE WAY AROUND 6/25/2009

At first I took my child to the Country Home on Fredricksburg Rd. and finally pulled her out after I was fed up with the director there. She was rude, sarcastic, and blew all my concerns off such as when I complained that there were a total of 8 different and new teachers in her classroom 4 days in a row. The kids were running around screaming and the ""teachers"" never knew her name. The director said they had to first give the ""teacher"" moved out of there time to see how she liked working at the front before they moved her back to the classroom. They were obviously more concerned for their staff. Complaining several times to the executive director got me nowhere. I then moved my child to another country home across town. This too has been a HUGE disappointment. Their website brags about ""EXCEPTIONALLY SMALL"" class sizes. They pack as many kids in there as they can and have been dinged for being out of ratio before on several occassions by the state. Recently an incident happened that could have caused serious injury to my child if I had not caught it when I did. \r \r In summary, I hate this daycare. I would love to hear about a daycare that I can trust to truely care for my child. Pros: There are good teachers on occassion Cons: Poor supervision of kids, Lip service from the front office more

Not a good experience 6/6/2009

We had our son in Country Home Learning Center on Fredericksburg for two months. Within two months he had three teachers and Lord knows how many subs. It was always a new person everytime I went to pick him up. There was no communication to parents about teachers changing, which I think is unexcusable. There was also very little communication about other things, such as accidents. My son was bitten by a classmate, and the school didn't report it. We only found out when we were bathing him and found the bite mark on his arm. We've recently moved my son to a new daycare, and we're so happy and relieved to have him somewhere else. Granted, a friend of mine had a decent experience at the same Country Home location, but it was a total nightmare for us. Pros: nice facilities Cons: poor communication, revolving door of teachers more

Country Home is a playground, not a Preschool 3/29/2009

Country Home is a playground, not a Preschool. Our son attended Country Home on Military Highway. We were unhappy from the very first day. Like any parent or child will see, their facility is full of amenities. It stops there. There is absolutely no educational value at this daycare. The staff was cold and inattentive to my child. We rarely received feedback from the teachers, even when we asked. The teachers often had their backs to the wild classroom when we arrived to pick him up. The Director was not concerned about the well-being of the children, not to mention the absentee owner (she’s has a legal background, not child care). We moved both of our children to a new Private Preschool almost 2 years ago and couldn’t be happier. When looking for a child care provider, be sure to consider an on-site owner, an accredited curriculum that is actually followed and a caring staff. Don’t be fooled by the curb appeal alone. Pros: Amenities Cons: Lack of curriculum, no communication, cold atmosphere more

Organized, Affordable, Friendly Staff, Makes Daughter Smile & Clap! 2/16/2009

My daughter has been attending Country Home on Fredericksburg/Wurzbach, part-time, for about 5 months now and loves it! She gets a big grin on her face and starts clapping when we pull into the parking lot. She started out in the nursery room and is now in one of the toddler rooms. She's happy to be dropped off and she's happy when I pick her up. She's had a perpetual cold since she started there, but I don't think it's any different from any other daycare or school your child would/will attend. They sanitize their toys and wear gloves when they pass out food and do diaper changes. They send kids home when they have fevers. I think they're doing everything they can to not spread germs. I feel as though the classroom staff is attentive and the front desk staff is very friendly. My daughter gets a hot lunch and two snacks everyday, as well as vising the theater, playing outside, and making crafts (highly assisted at this age). I also like that Country Home offers part-time child care at affordable rates. I couldn't find anyone else in town that offered this. They're also organized at the front desk and give me an account statement for my flexible spending account anytime I ask and they have year end tax statements ready at the front desk during tax time. I gave only 4 stars because no one is perfect. This is a good location....if you don't mind waiting for your name to move up the list! Pros: Organized, Friendly Staff, Affordable, Offers Part-Time, Educational Activities Cons: Sick kids more

perfect daycare 6/9/2008

We had recently moved from D/FW Area to SA and needed to find a d/c asap. But I had to be cautious since my son had a bad experience in a Plano d/c. I visited the school, and I knew it was the perfect daycare for my son. Country home @ NW Military offers your child a clean and spacious learning environment. There are several playing areas, even an indoor playground and a gym. This is great for those few cold days, rainy days or those super hot TX days. Country home has a little swimming pool area , a 50's soda shop, and a theater area. Your child also has the opportunity to gacomputer activities. more

Varies by location. 3/19/2008

As a parent, I would recommend Country Home but only certain locations. My son attended the one on Fredricksburg Rd at age 18 months thru 3 and loved it. The teachers were great and so was the staff. When he attended the one on Leslie Road along with my other 2 sons, it was a different story. For the teachers, some were great others were not so good. The front staff including the director was horrible. They were rude, inconsiderate and ignorant. Some of the children were always sick, the school was not santized well which made the illnesses travel all over the school. I transfered my children to the location on Bandera/Poss and they are enjoying it. more

Super great staff 1/23/2008

My children attend the Country Home on Leslie Road, and we have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The staff is very supportive and loving with my kids. We have been able to find very reliable babysitters that already know our kids and love to be with them. Anytime I have ever had a concern they have always taken care of it! Pros: indoor playgrounds, karate and dancing on campus more

Terrible Preschool 12/20/2007

I used the Country on NW Military Hwy and it was horrible. My child was there for a year and it was a nightmare. My four year old got bit by the same kid more than 4 times & they never got rid of him after several complaints from me. I finally took him out of the school. As a military wife, I have been in over 4 preschools in 5 years and this was the absolute worst! Never again! Pros: A few of the teachers were awesome Cons: Staff is awful and incompetent more

THE WORST DAYCARE EVER 11/13/2007
