We enjoyed our breakfast and give them 4 stars. Eggs benedict and french toast were outstanding The holandaise sauce was the best I have ever tasted . Orange Juice was fresh squeezed and sweet. Bacon was thick and tastey. Staff was efficient and friendly even though the place was very busy it was worth the 15 minute wait for a table. Pros: Food, Service, cozy more

The Cottage Restaurant has great food for the entire family. My wife and I really liked their semi-famous artichoke soup, made fresh in their restaurant. We also really liked their Caesar Salad -- and she's pretty choosy, as she makes her own Caesar Salad! The restaurant is family-friendly with food for everyone. Even my four picky young sons found something to eat. The Cottage serves breakfast all day, lunch, and dinner from Thursday through Saturday. Food ranges from pancakes to hamburgers to great dinner salads and more. They have a semi-private booth that holds 4-8 people. They are a half-block off Ocean Ave., convenient to central Carmel. The restaurant is usually busy, especially during the summer. so we always call for reservations. We've visited the Cottage Restaurant several times and enjoyed every meal. more

I think this place is catered toward seniors as most of their patrons are seniors with a few tourists who mistakenly stumbled upon this restaurant . The food here is just bland, bland, bland. Their whiteboard posted their artichoke soup as a house specialty but tasted nothing more than some bland, green puree; looks and tastes like baby-food. The bowl of soup is expensive too - what a waste of money. I also had the omelette which is not greasy but very dry. They also serve us some bread but the bread was stale.
