Cooks of Crocus Hill

I stopped in here last Christmas season to look for a few specific items and some general stocking stuffers. I wandered the store for about 30 minutes crossing back and forth when I was unable to locate some items. The staff seemed more than willing to greet and offer help to any one who came into the store but me and never did inquire if I could use any help. I ended up leaving and purchasing nothing. more

Cooks of Crocus Hill is just about the perfect culinary shop. They have (almost) everything you could need, from cast-iron pans to local spices to that obscure cookbook you've always wanted. The staff at Cooks is always helpful, and offer suggestions based on products they've used, not just what they've been trained to say. On top of that, the shop offers many cool programs. There are classes taught by area chefs, seasonal crop shares, and their "Cooks Stuff" program - spend $250 in store, and get a $25 gift certificate in the mail. The only downside to Cooks is that they don't always have what you're looking for. The shop is small, so it's easy to understand why they cannot have every culinary invention in the world, but I've had to go elsewhere for specific needs twice. Cooks of Crocus Hill is heaven for the Food Network crowd. This charming outlet on Grand Avenue stocks every conceivable gadget for the foodie. The store also offers classes. I’ve gone to this store a number of times, but I have yet to buy anything. The prices are just too high. This is more the fault of the product’s manufacturers than the store’s owners. Culinary equipment is expensive. If you have a lot of disposable income or are content window shopping, head to Cook’s. There is a shared parking lot behind the store. If you are a foodie, at Cooks, you'll think you're in heaven. Cooks is the absolute best. First, they start with very knowledgeable staff to help you with everything from figuring out a recipe to finding the best sauté pan on the planet. They offer classes from the top chefs in the area on a wide variety of topics. There's even quite a few classes to appeal to men, so this isn't just a shop for the women in the kitchen. They carry a store full of top quality kitchen items, with brands like Les Creuset, AllClad, and Wusthof. They even offer seasonal crop shares of the finest meats, vegetables, and fruits. This store has it all. more
