im one of those people who can""t afford to get my hair done every 8 weeks like im suppose too, but when i can i always come back to mena's place. all mi wanted for christmas was a gc to contemporary styles.....im praying they can fit me in this saturday!!!!!!!!!!good job crew!!!!!! I will never, ever go to this salon again! It is NOT because of the stylists, they are great! Especially, Breanna! The services the stylists provide is just the absolute best; but the owner of this place is just awful. She is so mean to them in a non-professional manner. In the year that I have been getting my hair done there I have watched and listened to how she treats her employees. She should be ashamed of herself not only as a shop owner/ manager but as human being. She harrass's them all on a personal level, even in front of her customers. She has had not one, but TWO crews walk out on her because of the way she treats them...that alone should tell you what kind of a person she is. I know Breanna has left this salon because of being harassed and I hope that all of her clients follow her whervever she may go. She is a wonderful young woman who does not deserve the treatment she has recieved by the owner of this place. I know I will be following her... more

I have always been a stylist jumper, never staying at one place more than a year or so. My friend recommended Andy @ Contemporary Styles to me in 2005, and I've been going ever since. I've also recommended about 10 of my friends and coworkers to the salon, and they all have recommended friends. I absolutely love my color and cut every time I leave there. They always give you exactly what you ask for and are great for helping you decided on a change when you need some direction. I also went to them with my bridal party for my wedding, and they did an amazing job! With all the people I know who go to Andy and the other stylists, I have never heard a complaint! Try them! You won't be sorry! more

I drive from Delaware to Media because Mena and her staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. They can never do enough for you. The best thing about the salon is that they are totally up to date with the latest hair styles, colors, make-up and fashion. I'll never go to another salon. I highly recommend Contemporary Styles! more

I have gone to many salons over the years and I will NEVER go to another as long as Mena and Contemporary Styles is around. Mena is a gem as are all the girls (and guy!). They bend over backwards to accomodate schedules. They go in on their days off. They spend more time than they need to. They are friendly and lively and extremely competent at what they do. In fact, they are constantly taking classes and learning new techniques etc. I am completely baffled by the two negative reviews. Plus Mena puts on an extraordinary LIVING BEYOND BREAST CANCER benefit every year that rivals any big time major event plus its tons of fun! more

I call to schedule an appointment and recieve a very nasty rude and unhelpful employee who answer the phone. They told me I need to hurry up and pick a time or call back later because they were busy. Then I ask to speak to the owner so I can report her and come to find out she was the owner, Mena. Very rude and impatient. I recommend not to you use a salon when the owner herself is very nasty and rude to her customers. more

Since going to this salon -I've rec'd more complements on my hair coloring and cut. It's a friendly, quite lively shop in Media. I love this place !! I like to get off work early, grab a glass of wine and relax....let them do their magic...never had a problem with any of the girls ...Andi, Mena etc. Pros: ambience, parking, happening place more

I have been going to this hair salon since I was a baby. My stylist, Andy, is a master hair colorist. I have never been dissatisfied with her efforts. I always leave absolutely loving my color/cut. She spends so much time on her clients, as do all of the stylists in the shop. The owner requires each stylist to maintain their skills, and attend conferences to find out the latest styles and hot looks! The owner is a stylist herself, and she makes sure all clients leave the shop happy, not just her own. This is a friendly, clean, and professional environment. I highly recommend you going here! more

I went to this salon for 3 years. The owner was VERY snobish. She didn't give me the time of day. I bet she didn't even know my name. Sharon( my Stylist) has since left the salon (thank God) so I followed her to the new place. I do not recommend you go here. All of the good stylists have left because the owner was so difficult and it showed to the clients. more
