Antiques and Crazy Lamps 5/16/2006

Consignment Galleries is huge and wall to wall with antique housewares. They have lots of furniture, but as far as I'm concerned the real reason to come is the lamps. You want lamps with Maxfield Parrish shades or bases where the bulb is held aloft by a naked lady? You will find them in spades here. I like that sort of thing, and the prices aren't bad. Also selections of china and some jewelry and pictures. They take consignment, but ask for their guidelines first. more

amazing selection 3/22/2006

I pop in here every few weeks just to take a look at their amazing selection of antiques. Usually the furniture inventory doesn't change much, but the accessories and collectibles are always changing. There are always really cool Tiffany style stained glass lamps, cool china, neat clocks, etc. It's a great place to "treasure hunt" for the perfect item for your home - you never know what you'll find! My impression is that you can haggle a bit on price, especially on larger more expensive items! more

Lots of nice used furniture and household accessories 8/15/2005

The furniture at Consignment Galleries is obviously good quality - take a look at any piece they have. However, because of the quality of the furniture, the prices are still somewhat high (considering that the furniture has been used). A number of the pieces are obviously used, however, a few rare pieces look brand new! The space is a little cramped because of the large amount of items they have - ranging from dining room tables to dressers to tea sets to jewelry. The women that run the store are not pushy at all and let you have your space when you are inspecting items. more
