Great vet 11/13/2009

I always took my dog here until last year when she died at 16 years of age. They always do a great and thorough job with the animals. My mother takes all her's here too! more

Great Staff 2/19/2009

I have not taken any of my pets to this animal hospital but I have called regarding several issues regarding my dogs and cockatiel. The staff has been very helpful over the phone and their shot quotes for my dogs seem very reasonable. The quote for egg extraction for my cockatiel seems very reasonable as well.I will definately be taking my pets to Conover Veterinary Hospital. more

Will never go back! 10/19/2008

We will never take a pet back to this animal hospital, they only care about the money you have, will ask how you intend to pay for your visit before the doctor even see's your animal. If you have money, your pet is very well cared for, if not it will die. The office manager is mean and hateful. more

Boarding at Conover Vet Hospital 2/18/2006

I have to go out of town a lot for my job and I always have my dog boarded at Conover Vet. They take great care of him and he's always so happy there. The staff there goes out of their way to ensure that special requests are tended to and that each animal receives attention. I consider the rates to be very reasonable: $15/night for a 75lb dog and that includes a check-up with the vet on duty during his stay. I have recommended this boarding facility to other friends and co-workers and they have expressed their satisfaction as well. PROS: small and friendly CONS: more

  • Conover Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1988 by Dr. Donald Whitener. While working as an Associate Veterinarian in Lincolnton, Dr. Whitener was exploring western North Carolina for possible locations to open his own hospital. He saw a need in the Conover community and opened the business here. The business quickly grew and in 1993 he made his first expansion to the facility and added more kennel and a retail area.
