This place is truly horrible. They completely messed up my hair. Saving money is just not worth it. Go to a good salon, even if you have to pay a little more. I now have a completely messed up haircut, that will take months to grow out. Pros: null Cons: null more

I have been going to Colorific Salon for about 2 years now and I am always very pleased with it. The staff is nice and the hours are convenient. I have been to many fancier salons in the past and have never been as pleased as I am after seeing Jennifer F. I have naturally dark brown hair and I wanted "natural" looking highlights, not too thick or chunky. She nailed it on the first try and has been nailing it ever since! She also gave me the perfect hair cut that I was so apprehensive about getting in the first place but she knew what would look good on me and she was right! She is very personable and I feel like I've known her for a long long time! GO SEE JENNIFER! more

this chain is cheap for a reason. i asked for red highlited and got pink. i sat in the chair for 3 hours while they tried to fix it. then the girl said i cant do anything for you and made me pay anyway. i then went to mario tricoci at louis joliet and they were great. they are more expensive for a reason cuz they know what they are doing. i do not recommend colrofic to nayone who wants to look normal when they come out. I've gone to this salon for about 4 years now. (Joliet location). Meghan and Nina did my hair and did an excellent job. Nina left, but I believe Meghan is still there so request her if you get the choice. I've always been a blonde and decided to make a change a few months ago and died my hair dark. After realizing I missed my blonde hair, I made an appointment at colorific. I knew I wouldn't pull my normal blonde but, Nicole insisted that I would pull a pretty blonde and she could give me heavy highlights. As she rinsed out my hair she suggested a toner. I left with my hair still wet, dried it when I went home to find ORANGE HIGHLIGHTS. I went back and another girl, (I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but she was very nice) attempted to tone down my orange once again. My hair is fried and I had to go to a very expensive salon to get my color fixed and a nice cut. Make sure if you choose colorific to ask for a color specialist. Ask if your stylist has their license. An acquaintance of mine used to work at Colorific without a cosmo license. She failed her boards twice!!! She worked at colorific for three months without a license! If you go to get your hair done by a professional then I believe they should be licensed. Pros: Nice products. Cons: RUINED MY HAIR! more

I just had my hair done today by Katharine (Katie). I had color, highlight and cut. I had never been there before and was extremely satisfied. I picked my preteen daughter up from middle school immediately after and she got in the car and said "Oh my God, mom!!! Your hair looks awesome!!!" I have NEVER had a compliment from her before. I have had the same person cut and highlight my hair for years and decided to make a change and it was so worth it. I went in and just asked the girl to help me with my hair. I am in my mid 40s and am getting alot of gray. My hair is long and curly and i have alot of hair. It really needed a change. She cut over 3 inches off, layered it, colored it and highlighted it. Then she helped me style it in a more updated style showing me what to do and what products to use. She spent 3 1/2 hours with me!!! My hair looks incredible and i will continue to go to this salon and request Katie. She had so many suggestions and did such a great job. She was great to talk with also. I have visited many different salons looking for that "perfect" hair style and color, and finally found it. I am very pleased with the service and attention provided to me by my color specialist. All staff members are very friendly and their work stations are nice and clean. I like the fact that they provide an area with hair products and hair-dryers where you can style your own hair. I love it there. They treat you with respect, and are very caring of your needs. If they know what you're asking for is not going to work they will be upfront with you. I've been seeing Johanna since they opened in Plainfield, and have NEVER had any issues. Place is very clean, and music is soothing. Prices are wonderful, and the color specialists, and stylists are just so nice. I've recommended many other to this location and they have shared with me the same experience. I went to colorific to get my hair colored and cut, and walked out a total mess thanks to johanna the stylist doing my hair that day. Needless to say I wont be back to her or the salon. Pros: fried my hair more

THe first time I went to Colorific, a few month ago, the manager, Matt, came up to me and introduced himself and shook my hand! He took the time to see exactly the color I wanted. (I was a blond, changing to a redhead. My natural color is brunette) Even the girl, who is the supervisor of color, introduced herself too. So I had 3 people, who took their time, to speak with me to see how I wanted my hair. (Mind you, that place was very busy, but they still were able to spare a few minutes for me) They make you feel VERY welcomed, like you have known them for years and that you're family. Their work is EXCELLENT and if you choose, you have the option of styling your own hair using their products and appliances at no charge!
