Colonie Animal Hospital

I've lived near the Colonie animal hospital for about 5 years now, but never went there because its not very appealing from the outside. My puppy has been sick for 2 days and I just wanted to bring her somewhere quick, so i called to see if they had an appointment and they got me right in!! The 2 girls at the front desk were very friendly and came out from behind the counter to greet every animal as they came in. The office was clean and neat and the services are very affordable. I'm not sure who the vet was that I saw today. As with a review I read earlier, the vet did not introduce himself to me. As with other vets I have used in the past, he didn't seem like much of a ""people person"" but he is great with animals which is all that matters to me. Within 3 hours of visiting my puppy is finally feeling better. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this vet!! more

I have been bringing my pets to Colonie Animal Hospital for over 30 years and I would never bring my pets anywhere else. I was a client when the now retired Dr. Neuman ran the practice and I was very impressed with Dr. Green when he joined ( and now owns ) the practice.He has such a nice and caring way with the animals and he's an excellent vet. I hear so many people complain that many vets care more about money than they do about animals but that has never been the case with CAH. Over the years, I have had many emergencies with my animals ( expensive ones ) and they have always worked out payment arrangements for me so that my pets could be treated. I can't say enough positive things about the entire staff at CAH. I highly recommend them to anyone who owns a pet. more

I am 10 years of age and i love it there we bring my 2 dogs. they help out a bunch when my doggies get shots it quick easy and not painful for the dogs. they have the dogs back out to me in a matter of 2 minutes. we have boarded 1 of our dogs there and they took care of her like they owned her i just cant go any where else.!!! :) Dr. Green does field trips and my grandparents have brought there cats there for over 25 years and we love the service. my mom used to bring her pets there i love Colonie Animal Hosptial Pros: great care and caring doctors Cons: i have none i love it there more

I have been going to Colonie Animal Hospital with my pets for almost 20 years. They have always been there when I needed them and have gone out of their way to provide excellent care for my animals. This year when I had to have my second dog put down, they cried right with me and I know that many of them felt the sadness as much as I did. Dr. Green has always been wonderful to my pets and at times when he has not been available I've seen Dr. Kinne (his wife) or some of the other vets who have all been wonderful compassionate and caring individuals. I would never think if taking my pet to another practice. They all really care about your pet. It is obvious from the moment you enter the facility. Pros: Everyone really cares about your pet and it shows! Cons: I really have nothing negative to say. more

I've been taking my cats here since 1992 and have received only the best of care from the desk personnel right up to the doctors. They all take a genuine care and interest in your pet, and remember not only your name but your pet's names as well. The entire office cried when I had to have my cat put down 5 years ago. He was a frequent visitor/patient during his 11 years and got to be quite well known and loved by the entire staff. This is truly a family oriented office.\r \r Dr. Green and Dr. Kinne (who happen to be married) are top rate doctors thathave a unique talent with animals. Other than the now retired Dr. Newman, they are they only docs I've dealt with, but I'm sure the other vets are equally capable, caring, and compassionate.\r \r I HIGHLY recommend this practice to all pet owners in the Albany,NY area!!!!! Pros: Top notch staff, well priced, great location, awesome service. Cons: Only thing I can think of is no Sunday hours, but hey, everybody needs a day off... more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I was turned away with a Boston Terrier in Pain because I didn't have an appointment. Ok, I'm unhappy about it but if that's their policy...... But the very rude staff stood at the windows waving as my very upset husband and I pulled away to go to the emergency clinic. I find that completely unacceptable behavior from people that are supposed to care for animals. Cons: Don't Care About Animals more
