Coldwater Creek ~The Spa

I booked 2 pedi appointments for my gf and myself and were able to get in within 2 days (slow season start of the year). CCS can be very busy so we were happy to get in so quickly. Let me start off by saying the front desk girl needs more training (maybe she's new?). She should be instilling confidence as she is the first person you meet when walking into a place that is about being professional with high priced services (for the owner if she/he reads reviews). Having said that the nail technicians are very well trained and know exactly what to do. You are made to feel pampered and relaxed like you don't have a care in the world. This is a spa experience don't confuse it with your neighborhood Vietnamese run salon. The gravity chair alone was heaven and then to awake and see my feet looking and feeling amazing is worthy of the 5 stars rating. Afterward we were offered to go into the Relaxation Room which we passed on since we were just starting our evening out. It is pricey but I think it's worth it. You decide, go and enjoy. Just had a deep tissue massage for my birthday. I told to arrive early 15 min for a complimentary foot soak before my service so when I arrived, I was asked to fill out paperwork then once in my robe ready for the my foot soak I sat down for at least 10 min for an employee to come out with the foot soak with not warm water and a heat wrap which was not warm. Foot soak lasted 5 min before my massage therapist came out to get me then once in the room I noticed it was 15 min past my massage time but I thought it wasn’t a problem that that 50 min would start running once she started massaging me……wrong!!! 4:05 exactly and she stopped! A total of 35 min massage for the price of $110+ That wasn’t the worst, it was the quality too….when she asked what was the problem I told her my lower back was achy so the whole 35 min she spent on the “spot” and didn’t even touch elsewhere. Not an enjoyable experience. I’ve been to other salons that are not near as expensive and have had an amazing experience. more

I came in for a massage which was barely ok except for the cost. The blond manager was absolutely horrible and made a bad experience a horrible experience. more

I went in for a leg and bikini wax. The girl seemed in experienced and rushed. She only waxed three strips from my bikini line (uneven and ineffective). When she waxed my legs, she only waxed half of the hair, leaving me looking like a zebra (I literally had stripes of hair/skin). The best part? She flicked a giant glob of wax, from my leg, into my hair on my head. TWICE! I had an event to go to that evening and ended up shaving my legs in their shower with their complementary shampoo and disposable razor. HORRIBLE service. So I gave this place a 5 star review bc I was so impressed by the atmosphere and service. This place is definately worth the money. Its really not that expensive. I noticed someone said something about 100 being too much. That's actually pretty reasonable considering the upscale environment they provide. My massage was great! The 80 minute Ultimate Pedicure is by far the best nail treatment that I have had. The services was made more enjoyable with their zero gravity chairs, blankets, neck and eye pillows and the tranquil atmosphere. I felt spoiled by my 'nail specialist' and will be going back for more pampering! The price is a bit more than other area spas, but the comfort and extra amenities made it worth every penny! I get about 10 massages a year, and perhaps I have high expectations, but this massage was sub par - in just about every aspect. And it was over $100 - ! Simply NOT WORTH IT! Pros: nice music Cons: crappy massage more

Im very surprised to read the reviews on this spa. On my recent treatment there the location was convenient, the staff was professional and friendly, and the services I received were excellent. I didnt even know about the spa but was told by a friend about it. With so many mediocre experiences to be had in Portland spas I hesitate until I hear about a place by someone I know. I had an incredible and calming facial and the aesthetician was skilled and professional. She gave recommendations of skin products that, since using over a month now has made a definite difference and my brows looked better than they have in a looooooong time. I didnt notice the skin care products listed above. Image and BKamins is what I was introduced to. They also have anti aging peels which was tempting. Maybe next time. Call in advance if you want more options since they seem to be popular, which, in my mind isnt a bad thing. The only thing missing was a steam room or sauna. I was hopeful about this spa because it is located so close to my home in Tualatin. I made an appointment for a facial about 6 months ago. That was my first visit. The service was poor, the facialist rushed me through, talked about her health insurance problems the entire time, and forgot to do extractions! I paid for a 50 minute facial and got 35 minutes. I decide to give them another try about one month ago. I had another 50 minute facial which once again was extremely rushed and it must be company policy because the facial lasted only 40 minutes....and it was terrible (rushed, incomplete, and unprofessional)! I had my eyebrows waxed and for the first time I realized what a horror a bad wax job is. The lady waxed off half of my left brow and then pretended nothing was wrong. The lady at the front desk just smiled, lied and said it looked fine and still charged me $20.00 for the most hideous eyebrow wax that I have ever had in my life. I also wanted to mention that I have heard similar complaints from friends and family who have had services at Coldwater Creek.\r \r My advice, I would seriously consider another Spa before going to Coldwater Creek. I certainly will never go there again and I have warned my friends and family.\r \r Another note, they even tried to sell me a few skin care products that the facialist never even mentioned to me or took the time to tell me about the products (the way that they are supposed to). The absolute worst manicure and pedicure of my life. Cuticles weren't even pushed back. How do you do a mani/pedi without pushing back the cuticles? They buff your heels with a nail file? Unbelievable. I came home and immediately took my polish off, pushed back my own cuticles and re-painted. What a waste of a day and a waste of money. more

I have been to a number of spas over the past few years and nothing compares to Coldwater Creek! The staff is friendly and helpful, always providing the best customer service possible. I guess if they are busy they must be pretty good but unfortunately I wouldn't know. I have tried many times for over a year to use my gift card and have been unable to get an appointment unless I want during the day in the middle of the week which I am unable to do. What a disappointment. . I will probably just buy something at their store. Bummer. I understand a week out but a month or more. ridiculous. I will never use their spa and will continue to go to the ones I frequent on a regular basis. Their customer service is excellent and the value is even better. Of all the spa experiences in my 20 years of spa's, Coldwater Creek was the WORST! If you want that gift certificate or time off for pampering, be warned! I'm giving Coldwater Creek one star as I am not able to post my review with ZERO stars! After spending almost $300 and being ignored by the staff and gipped out of a portion of my package benefits, the icing was my complaint to the manager in charge. Her tone was condescending and OBVIOUS that she didn't care. What is hysterical to me is the comment by Paula the Director (read below) as you will NOT what to step foot in that building EVER again after being treated so terribly. Their employees are young, inexperienced and it shows. They talk a strong talk but their walk is nothing short of pathetic. Did I mention my 'freshly laundered' robe smelled like it had been sitting in a Vegas lounge for a week? Reeked of smoke! I am a little shy about the whole spa scene, but wanted to make use of a gift card. I cannot say enough about the great service I received during my visit. The girls at the front desk made me feel like I was a part of the group -- and I will be, after the excellent facial I received. The technicians I met were knowledgeable, asking me questions to make sure I was comfortable at all times, but not going overboard with too much gab. The products used during my facial smelled and felt wonderful, and I loved the results. My friends and I came for pedicures and were happy. We were truely relaxed after the hour plus service. The polish was impeccable and the experience divine. The techs were professional and welcoming. The only slight downfall was that we expected to be able to chat during the service but were all too relaxed to do so! I have had pedicures at many different places and reccomend coldwater creek over all for value and relaxation. It was way more then a pedicure it was a spa experience. more

I have been to several spa's in Portland and have loved everyone of them for the different specialties they have to offer. I can't say this about Coldwater Creek. I was needing a pedi and mani mostly for the massage. My girlfriend and I were able to get an appointment at the last minute for a manicure only. We asked if there was massage involved and were told ""yes"", we also said if there was more time or they had a no show to let us know. We got in at 4:00 and were told it was a 1/2 hr treatment. The therapist files, buffs, lotion (no massage at all) warm mittens, done. I couldn't believe how awful it was. I asked if that was it and was told, yep. The therapist still had a 1/2 before closing and no other client, didn't offer more time, we would have paid. Really bad service. The front desk did offer money off but that wasn't the point, we wanted hand and arm massage and some sort of care. There was none. The therapist obviously had somewhere better to be. This was one of my first Spa visits and it could not have been a better introduction. I had an Essential Facial and had my makeup done after that. I loved the welcome I received, relaxation room experience was a great transistion especially the warm neck wrap, what a great scent. I am a big girl, so having a warm welcome and inquires about my comfort, all the way through the experience was a huge plus for me.\r The therapist answered my questions, I had a lot at first, but then I wanted to soak in the experience with quiet and she was considerate of my shift in mood. \r \r The Mirabella mineral makeup after the facial was great....I left there with lots of product and I have been very happy with it.\r \r Comfort, consideration and courtesy...what a combo to create a relaxing experience! I had a lovely pedicure here. The best part of it was the tech didnt talk the whole time, very relaxing. The foot and leg massage could have been better, but maybe I should have said someting. Coldwater Creek Spa is amazing! As my first spa experience, I was greatly impressed beyond all expectations. I received a swedish masage, european facial and pedicure. The staff were incredibly knowledgable, kind, helpful and never rushed on anything. I was never pressured into any additional treatments, products or services. The relaxation room is wonderful! It is small, closed off to the rest of the spa, and plenty of complimentary teas and snack foods. You receive a foot soak in this room before your treatment. The staff are always ready to assist in any way possible. Plush robes and reflexology sandals, heated floor tiles, 2 large showers in the woman's room, plenty of amenities...hair products, hair dryers, etc... \r \r The atmosphere was quiet, serene and peaceful. Only 4 changing rooms and 10 lockers all in one area, which could be a potential downfall, but was never crowded when I was there. I felt completely at home and pampered while I was there. You are invited to stay and relax a while after your treatments. IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU, exactly what a spa should be.\r \r Pros: atmosphere, service, staff and customer service Cons: no sauna or steam room, to my knowledge. Product prices a little high more
