View of the City 3/26/2006

This is a great spot to get a good view of the city. For a few dollars take the creaky old elevator (while trying not to think of past earthquakes) to the top of the tower for a 360 degree view of the city. The park setting outside the tower is a great place for a picnic lunch. The best way to get up to the tower is via bus. Parking is sparse and the road narrow so navigating up in a rental car may be less than ideal. more

The Walk Alone Will Take Your Breath Away 3/9/2006

When I visited this place, after I got my breath back from the climb, I could feel the history here. There is a real neat story behind this tower. I am not going to spoil it by telling you all about it. I want you to visit Coit Tower for yourself and discover it's uniqueness. You really do get a fantastic view of the City. When I took a look, I was amazed at the City's beauty and variety of areas in such a small piece of land. The bay looks grandeur -- you haven't seen the bay until you have looked at from Coit Tower. Make sure you go on a clear day. more

Good place to view San Francisco at night 8/18/2005

One of the must see places in San Francisco, Coit Tower stands on Telegraph Hill, so it's a good place to see San Francisco. During the daytime, you can see the streets of San Francisco changing elevation over different hills. At night, you just see lights everywhere, showing you where the houses are. The strange part is that the parking lot is always crowded, even if you go at 2 in the morning. You may need to wait a bit for someone to leave or there might be some parking on the bottom of the hill and you can just walk up the hill. more
