I recently had a nice lunch with a friend at Kang's Coffee Break on South University. Kang's is one of my favorite places for Korean food in town. I had (as I usually have) the "jang kuk bob" soup, a beef soup which comes with a very spicy pepper paste as a side plus delicious kim chi; Wayne had "bi bim bob". We sat near the window. The space is smallish, much more suited to a lunchtime meal than any kind of sit-down dinner. I really should be more adventurous the next time I go back and order something that I don't usually order from the menu, since lots of things on it look really good. more

Spicy Chicken - The best in town 8/10/2005

Coffee Break is a small diner like place in Ann Arbor, with the best Korean Food in town. It may not be much to look at on the inside, but people flock to this place for the great food. Just be ware that they do not take credit cards so be sure to bring cash. Not only is the food amazing, but the price is reasonable. You can get a whole meal for about $7. Make sure to bring some tissues, they're not kidding when they call it spicy chicken! more
