Cody Inn Continental Cuisine

A group of us took the trek to the Cody Inn for the Italian Culture dinner and WOW! I was really impressed. The wines matched each course to perfection and I was particularly pleased with the Stracciatelli (sp?) which was an Italian egg drop soup, it was served with a perfect chardonnay. the veal was fabulous (and the left overs made for some great soup later) Lady Caution-Large Portions. more

Our dinner here was a disaster. They one had one kid menu, spilled a glass of water on everyone, took 45 minutes to bring out four sliders (precooked meat on untoasted rolls). Drink orders were not filled. more

A cozy and relaxed atmosphere with very good food. Large portions and great specials. Good wines for under $30 a bottle. Pros: Food and good service Cons: Some food was too salty more

Denver has a real national treasure: Owner/Chef Paul Gummerson. He is from 'the old school"" - and he can cook! The Cody Inn is in a scenic location - off the beaten track, but easily reached. The ""old school"" continental menu and attentive and knowledgeable service provided by ""Chef Paul"" and his wife Perri is attractively combined with ""new school"" weekly specials, eg. the Tuesday $10 steak dinner, the Wednesday $15 ""Beat the Recession 4 course Dinner,"" the Thursday night ""50% Off Any Bottle of Wine on the list with Dinner"" and the Friday-Saturday-Sunday ?This week ends Feature? menu. The owner/chef serves up the kind of food you would expect to find in an high-end European ski challet/restaurant. He is a man who really loves to cook - it is truly his passion. The outside of the little Cody Inn belies it's cuisine. The entrees speak of Central Europe, but occasionally reach out to other corners of Continent.
