We hired Coastal Elite's Landscaping dept to tackle our relatively small backyard. Unfortunately, they were one of the only companies who said they would be able to meet our fairly stringent timeline, but they managed to bust right through it...
First, the contract was very basic and didn't spell anything out about the job to be performed. It also refers to an attachment, and there is no attachment. Our understanding was they were going to clear our back yard, bring in a truckload or two of fill dirt, level, and install bermuda sod. They half-heartedly installed the very dead sod, and did not perform any of the other discussed functions.
When we received request for final payment from the project manager, I informed her that the 'complete' job looked worse than any sod job short of the initial one provided 'free' by Centurion Homes when we bought our house. The Landscape manager came out the next morning, we talked about my concerns to include the washout areas where sod looked like a mountain range (hadn't been raked out), to the large areas around our trampoline and my little ones play house which were just left bare, no sod, just dirt. We spoke about the supposed leveling, and the deadness of all of the sod despite my watering it for 30 min per day as recommended by their staff. No notes were taken by said manager, but he said he'd send the guys back out on Thurs or Fri. While they did fill in the large open areas, they didn't level anything out, the sod looks like some teenager installed it for $20. I will NEVER use COASTAL ELITE for ANYTHING AGAIN!!! Also, please note that Coastal Elite is essentially a contracting company, so they do many different things, and who knows if they do any of them well.
Biggest benefit in all of this? We only paid half up front. I could go on and on about covered up sprinkler heads and other stuff, but this review is too long.
Pros: Quick Responses to Issues/Questions
Cons: Work not performed, contract?, poor quality work
