Editorial review from Citysearch 10/31/2012

I would like to share with you my recent terrible experience trying to exercise a auto dealership approved warranty claim concerning my less than one-year-old leather auto seats done by Coach Automotive Restyling in Kansas City, Kansas. My new leather seats are experiencing discoloration on a section of the lower backrest portion of the driver’s seat where the seat warmers expel heat. The Coach Automotive owner was not willing to accept this warranty claim claiming that the fact that I wore jeans, a belt, coats, or any form of clothing while sitting in the seats made it possible that my clothing had caused the discoloration. This is the most ridiculous failure to stand by your product I have ever seen in my 15 years of dealing with businesses. \r \r To exercise the warranty claim the owner, Gary Seiden, required I sign a paper committing to pay him to replace the seat if he found that the defect could have been caused by other factors. With this extreme shirking of responsibility and conceded attitude it was obvious that it was a foregone conclusion by him that his product could not possibly be defective. I without question would not sign his contract to hold me financially responsible for exercising a legitimate warranty claim. Apparently Gary Seiden believes the only legitimate way a person can prove a legitimate warranty claim would be to never come in contact with his product wearing any clothing what so ever. I have owned multiple vehicles with leather interior and seat warmers, while also wearing clothing, and have never experienced any of the issues I have with these seats installed by Coach Automotive Restyling in Kansas City, Kansas. The mere argument that jeans or a belt caused this discoloration is further ridiculous based on the shape and area of the discoloration. If it had been caused by an article of clothing the shape would indicate the shape of an article of clothing and it certainly does not. \r \r My message to all those who are thinking about doing business with this company beware of their failure to stand behind their product. They get much of their business from dealerships, so if you’re having interior work done by a dealership request that they do not use Coach Automotive Restyling in Kansas City Kansas. The dealership where I purchased my car used this business, which is how I became involved in this battle to exercise my warranty claim and how I found out and am sharing with you that Coach Automotive Restyling and owner Gary Seiden is not a person you want to do business with. Beware!\r more
